Tuesday Tutorial # 74

Have you been enjoying the Paisleys & Posies stamp set? It is a fun one and you can create your own retro cards with it.

Today I used the beautiful Designer Series paper that coordinates with the stamp set and also the Paisley Framelits dies, but I used the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.

Flourishing Phrases Sympathy card

Here's a sympathy card that I made using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and coordinating thinlit dies.

I must confess that I wasn't making it as an example of Stampin' Up!s great products. I was making it because, unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card. So, not all of the products are Stampin' Up! The Blackberry Bliss cardstock is retired. The ribbon is some that I purchased at a local craft store. And the embossing powder is also from a local craft store. Oh yes, the parchment paper is from a stationery set that I have had for a long time. So basically, the framelits, stamp set and cardstock are the only Stampin' Up! items. But this card can easily be switched up so that all the products are Stampin' Up!, it would just be a little different.

Summer Silhoutte Sympathy Card

I was working in my garden yesterday and noticed that some of the parsley is blooming and looks like the flower in the Summer Silhouettes stamp set. So I decided to stamp a Parsley card.

I used the new kraft paper too. Did you know that Stampin' Up! now sells kraft card stock? It isn't just the Baked Brown Sugar card stock, this is the real deal! Love it!

I used VersaMark ink to stamp the leaves on the Pear Pizazz card stock. It leaves a watermark effect, the leaves, or whatever you stamp with the watermark ink, stay the same color as your cardstock just darker so it is a great two-tone effect.

This is a Mojo Monday Sketch challenge from 2010.

Paper:
Kraft card stock, Pear Pizazz card stock, Pistachio Pudding card stock, Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack,

Ink:
VersaMark watermark ink, Whisper White craft ink

Stamp Set:
Summer Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Other:
Modern Label punch, White embossing powder, Heat embossing tool, clear embossing powder, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Trimmer

Have you tried the watermark technique? What do you think? I would love to hear your comments.

Gingham Garden Encouragement Card

I created a card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge that continued the use of the Gingham Garden DSP. The Gingham Garden paper pack is perfect for spring cards and other paper projects. It will be fun to see what new spring papers that Stampin' Up! will have in the new catalog when it comes out in June.

I used the bird from the Backyard Basics set and then when I checked the retired list this morning I found out that the Backyard Basic set is sold out and no longer available. I like this bird because it is realistic and can be colored in so many ways.

Simply Sketched Sympathy Card

It has been a week since I posted anything. I am usually done with taxes by now. But I am behind this year. I have been working on them as much as I can, but I have also been working away from home more than I usually do, so I just haven't made it there.

I do have some fun things to share. Sale-A-Bration is over and done for this year and now we have a new catalog to look forward to. Toward the end of the month Stampin' Up! will be posting the list of items that will be retiring and when those items sell out they are GONE! Some items get sold out very quickly after the list posts.

This is a label flip card that we made in our March Occasion cards class. The bird and verse are from a hostess stamp set that you can earn by hostessing a workshop. Give me a call if you would like to schedule a workshop to earn this stamp set!

I used Soft Sky card stock and Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. The paper was only available during Sale-A-Bration.

Here's a scrapbook page that my friend, Susie, made with the large sunflower from Stampin' Up! We were looking for examples of sunflower pages on the internet and didn't find many. She did a beautiful job, it looks so happy and sunny.
