Well, I guess it is about time I get back to my blogging. I have been busy teaching stamping classes, teaching 2nd graders and volunteering with an after school homework club. Now it's time to share some stamping.
I created several cards with Stampin' Up! stamps that weren't Christmas stamps. This one is not obvious because it does use Christmas stamps from the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog.
I stamped the Apothecary label in gold on Cherry Cobbler card stock and then embossed it with gold.
I also stamped the same stamp on Whisper White with Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out only the banner. Then I embossed the Sentiment on it again using the gold ink and the gold embossing powder.
I Stamped the Wondrous Wreath, die cut it and layered it onto the label with dimensionals. Then I layered the sentiment, also using dimensionals.
I think it looks rather elegant and like the way it turned out.

Serene Silhouettes Birthday Card
Have you noticed this new background stamp in the Stampin' Up! catalog? It might not strike you as one that would be interesting to use at first glance, but if you like to do elegant cards you should put this one on your wish list! The stamp is called 'I Love Lace' and you can see that it really steps up this card!
For the art piece I stamped one of the stamps from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink. Then I punched a circle from a sticky note and masked off the lower right corner before sponging it with Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral and crushed curry ink. I mounted it on the black for contrast with the Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo paper layers. The 'I Love Lace' stamp is stamped about halfway up the Melon Mambo background paper, then a Basic Black punched Dotted Ribbon Border was added along the top.
This card looks like it takes a lot of time, but really it's not bad. The most time consuming part is cutting the paper layers, so really it goes together quickly.
