I wanted to do a quick and simple page layout with the photos I took when we went with our friends to check out North Bonneville Dam. I just bought the Bundle that is in the current annual catalog called, Moments Like These. So I looked through the box and chose 3 cards to use in the card pockets along with my photos. 

One photo had a portrait orientation and I only had a landscape oriented pocket, so I trimmed it to 4" x 4", it didn't remove anything important, and put one of the project life cards behind it as a mat.

Then I chose the two small cards, and they coordinate and work very well with the subject of these photos, and used a labeler to create the title on one. I will do the journaling about the 'adventure' on the other card. It is quick and simple, and I can add some extras that came along with the embellishment bundle if I want, but I kind of like this quick and simple layout as it is.

I did have to have two pocket pages to hold all the photos.

I am still struggling with using the Project Life embellishment packs. I wanted to make this a quick page, but I wanted to see how I could incorporate some of the embellishments. 
I decided to use some of the little hearts around the cute picture of my grandson. Then I used a 'Perfect Picture' banner on the group photo.
I put some flowers up by the box where I am going to write the title. Then I used an arrow to point at the cute picture of my grandson. 
I then found the little bag of camera paper clips that came in the embellishment package so I added that to a photo. In another little bag there was a sheet of yellow bubbles, so I used 3 of those on another photo. 
I am happy with this page because I want the photos to be the main focus, not the embellishments, but I didn't think the addition of a few small elements really distracted from anything.

I also added the banner to the grandson's photo. I thought maybe I could use it for a clever word or phrase. The only embellishment that is actually on a photo is the paper clip. All the other stickers are stuck to the pocket page.

Scrapbook Sunday # 14

I was hoping that I could get this blog post finished before I went on vacation but it didn't happen. I took my laptop along so that I could create the post while I was on vacation, it didn't happen. I was just enjoying my family too much to even get on the computer much last week.

This is the page that I created for the blog that I didn't get to...

The pocket page is an 8 1/2" x 11" six card layout. I will put it in the 12" x 12" album with the 12" page layouts, but I wanted to use this smaller page because I wanted to put all the photos on the same page to show the progression- what happened before the cute shot of my grandson poking his head out of the sand pit that his uncle had been digging. He was so excited about being in the sand and curious about what his uncle was doing, that he wanted to crawl right in.
I only had two small pockets left and so I am using one of them for the journaling. Both of the journal cards are Project Life from Stampin' Up! cards. I'm not adding any embellishments to the photos because I don't want the distraction, I just want the photos to speak for themselves.

This page is another page from my grandson's first birthday visit. It is the back side of last week's page so I incorporated those Project Life cards into today's page instead of adding new ones. The card set is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Everyday Adventure.

The bottom of the page is a little out of focus. You can't read the stamps I used from the This Is Life stamp set. I used 2 stamps in the white arrow area. One says "Happiness is>>> " and the other one says " Like This >>>". The stamp in the yellow circle is from the same set and it says "SMILE". I also used the Something for Baby stamp set. I stamped the diaper pins directly on the cards with black ink and then stamped the toys on Whisper White card stock and cut them out with their matching framelits.
The grid card is where my journaling will go.

I bought the bundle because I will use all the pieces for future pages and the bundle is a better deal. But you can buy just the stamp set, just the cards set, or just the embellishment kit.

Another Scrapbook Sunday! Where does the time go?

Today I created another Project Life page. I am still trying to get used to using the pocket cards and putting pages together with them. This time I used a retired set of cards for the page called, Everyday Adventure. I didn't get the accessory pack for this card set and now I wish I had it. I decided to tie the page together with buttons, because of course my grandson is as cute as a button! I wish I had a stamp with that saying. I am either going to print that sentiment on a piece of overhead transparency or look through my stamp collection to see if I have it somewhere. I will add it to the top card and then add the journaling to the second card down.

One thing that I do when I make these pocket pages is add the embellishments to the outside of the pockets instead of to the actual cards or photos. It adds some texture and if I want to move or switch the embellishments it is much easier to remove the adhesive from the plastic pockets than it is from the photos or cards.

The top and bottom cards in the center row were a single card that I cut in half to tie the row together. I also added a border design in black to each card. The border stamp is from the Tin of Cards stamp set. The 'Love You' sentiment is from the Friendly Wishes stamp set.

Scrapbook Sunday # 5

This week I made another Stampin' Up! Project Life scrapbook page. I'm having fun making them with the new card, stamp and embellishment sets that I got. I just received the "Let's Go" bundle. So many of my photos are road trip photos that I had to get that one first.

The letters are from the embellishment kit and the 2 stamps in the box on the card in the lower right pocket are from the coordinating stamp set. All the cards are from the coordinating card set.

I like to take vertical photos and my husband likes to take horizontal photos. I think both of them turned out great. The problem I had was that the original set of photo pocket pages from Project Life Stampin' Up! only held either horizontal or vertical, not both on the same page. But, hooray!, the second set of pocket pages that are in the new catalog had just what I needed, a page with both vertical and horizontal pockets on the same page!

I haven't completed the journaling on this page yet, that's what the blank card at the top is for. The title is Gorge-ous Day because these photos were taken on a beautiful day in the Colombia River Gorge. The view from Crown Point is fantastic!

For this week's Scrapbook Sunday I am sharing a Project Life page. I probably should share this on Thursday as a Throwback Thursday project because the Stampin' Up! set of Project Life cards were from the Holiday Catalog last year. The new Holiday catalog will be coming out in the not-to-far-distant-future. So this set of cards is not longer available, but we don't have long to wait for the new set!

Project Life pages are quick and easy to put together. For this page I added washi tape and an embossed glittery snowflake to the card in the upper right corner. Then I used the Project Life embellishment set for the center bottom card and added the 'DEC' and the '2013'. Also the little tag that is on the photo in the upper left pocket (Let's get festive) is from the same embellishment set. The card in the lower left pocket is for my journaling.
