Thankful Thoughts Scrapbook Page

Hey, it's Sunday! I decided to make a scrapbook page for Scrapbook Sunday ☺. It's been quite awhile since I created a Scrapbook page for Scrapbook Sunday.

I am trying something new. I decided to grab a stamp set that I hadn't had a chance to use and create a scrapbook page, a 3D item and a card.

Today I am sharing the scrapbook page. It would be great to give someone as a special thank you for a gift. Snap a photo of yourself with the item, create the page and send it to the gifter!

Scrapbook Sunday # 27

It's difficult, when I have to take a photo of a page that is in a protector. This page has embellishments on the outside of the protector so it wouldn't look the same if I took it out. I like to add embellishments, in this case buttons and a bow, to the outside of protectors because it adds texture and depth and interest to the page, plus if I want to remove the items it is easier to remove them from the plastic.

I used two small cards from project life to add some color and interest. I also used some small heart stickers that I made by punching paper and adding Crystal Effects.

The background paper is from the Subtle Designer Series paper stack and the mat for the birth announcement and photo is a piece of printed vellum that I had from sources other than Stampin' Up!

The "It's a girl" stamp is from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.

Scrapbook Sunday # 25- Flurry of Wishes Page

Do you like to stamp snowflakes? I do. Maybe it is because we don't get a lot of snow where I live.
Today I created a scrapbook page with  the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. I would have used Soft Sky card stock but I was all out, so I grabbed some retired Bashful Blue card stock. I think it would have looked just as good with the current Soft Sky card stock.

Flurry of Wishes, Stampin' Up!, Stamp with Trude, scrapbook page, winter, Christmas, snowflakes, Scrapbook Sunday

I stamped all of the snowflakes in Soft Sky first. Then I used White craft ink to stamp the snowflakes. I embossed the white snowflakes with Whisper White embossing powder to which I had added Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.
The tiny groups of snowflakes are stamped with the snowflake stamp that is in the A Little Something stamp set.
I softened the edges of the page by sponging with craft white ink.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

Scrapbook Sunday # 24- Scrappy Page

I can't help carrying on the scrappy theme that I started on Tuesday. I guess I am just getting into cleaning out my scrap bins.

For this page I used all scraps from Designer Series Papers that are currently in the catalogs.

www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/CategoryPage.aspx?categoryid=100400&dbwsdemoid=2098728
This is a 12" x 12" Real Red card stock page. The red square in the center is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

The paper punching went quite quickly. It is the gluing that takes the time. I didn't really time myself, but I would say it took a couple of hours to create this page. It does look really nice in my scrapbook! ☺

Scrapbook Sunday

Here's another fun fall scrapbook page. It would be fun to have a big leaf rake against the tree trunk background. I would've had to hand draw and cut one...don't know if Cricut has one available on a cartridge or not. I used two Stampin' Up! stamp sets; Acorny Thank you and Vintage Leaves.

Trude Thoman, Stamp with Trude, Stampin' Up!, Vintage Leaves, Acorny Thank you, fall, autumn, scrapbook page
I used the Fringe scissors to create the grass. I used two layers of grass in two different colors. The darker color is behind (Garden Green and Always Artichoke).
I used Tip Top Taupe for 2 of the acorns...it looks gray in this photo. It is a tad browner in actuality.

I would also use this layout with a portrait layout photo. That would even leave enough room for a journal card. You could also do a two page layout with the second page layout being opposite of this one.

This page has enough room to move the photo down a tad and add a headline and/or you could also add a caption box underneath the photo.

Scrapbook Sunday # 19

I am still struggling with using the Project Life embellishment packs. I wanted to make this a quick page, but I wanted to see how I could incorporate some of the embellishments.
I decided to use some of the little hearts around the cute picture of my grandson. Then I used a 'Perfect Picture' banner on the group photo.
I put some flowers up by the box where I am going to write the title. Then I used an arrow to point at the cute picture of my grandson.
I then found the little bag of camera paper clips that came in the embellishment package so I added that to a photo. In another little bag there was a sheet of yellow bubbles, so I used 3 of those on another photo.
I am happy with this page because I want the photos to be the main focus, not the embellishments, but I didn't think the addition of a few small elements really distracted from anything.
Scrapbook Sunday, Stamp with Trude, Project Life, Lets Get Away, scrapbook page
I also added the banner to the grandson's photo. I thought maybe I could use it for a clever word or phrase. The only embellishment that is actually on a photo is the paper clip. All the other stickers are stuck to the pocket page.
What do you think?

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day,
Trude

Scrapbook Sunday # 18

Here's a quick 2-page layout that I created for my grandson's third birthday photos. I didn't put any journaling cards on these pages because it is going to be a part of a continuing spread and other pages with have the pertinent information.

I used a fancy 12" x 12" sheet from a retired Designer Series paper pack called 'Birthday Bash'. The polka dot paper is currently in the catalog. It is one of the designs in the Brights Designer Series paper stack.

The Tangerine Tango is from the current catalog. It is in the paper set 'Sweet Li'l Things'.

The cupcake liners were punched from 'Color Me Irresistible Designer Series Paper and then I sponged them with Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy and Cucumber Crush inks.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Scrapbook Sunday # 16 Pretty Pumpkin Page

Today I am revisiting last week's page. I repeated the design with the Vintage Leaves stamp set on the edge of the page, then I used the Everything Eleanor swirl over the rest of the page. I created a pumpkin with the Oval Collection framelits and stamped it with Flowering Flourishes.

I like how it turned out.

I used Crumb Cake ink on the pumpkin, Soft Suede ink on the leaves and VersaMark ink on the swirls.

Scrapbook Sunday # 15

I am still getting caught up from vacation and being sick.
Here is Scrapbook Sunday page #15:
I used Vintage Leaves to stamp along the sides and bottom. You could do this same thing on a cream background and vary the color of the leaves. I wanted it to be muted and plain so that it wouldn't distract from the photo. I used a mask to mask the leaves when I stamped over them.

Scrapbook Sunday # 13 Vintage Leaves page

Can you feel it in the air yet? Does it feel like fall?

I thought I would create a page for you to try out using the new Vintage Leaves stamp set and the matching framelits. It's a great way to use up some of your scraps. That's what I did, I grabbed my scrap bin and pulled out any papers that I thought would make good autumn leaves. Then I stamped and die cut them and arranged them on the page. The top rectangle is for the title and the bottom matted rectangle is for the photo.

Trude Thoman, Stampin' Up!, Vintage Leaves stamp set, Scrapbook Sunday, Scrapbook page, fall, autumn, harvest, Thanksgiving

I used Chocolate Brown 12" x 12" paper as the base, everything else is from my scrap bin. I stamped most of the leaves with Crumb Cake ink. The green leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
I used VersaMark to make a watermark with leaves on the title rectangle. The leaves are positioned a little differently than I had them arranged originally. It is just hard to fish out the bottom ones to glue down without disturbing the top ones. I decided that the next time I do something like this with a bunch of arranged pieces, I will take a photo with my phone and have it open next to me so that I can reposition the pieces like I had them placed before I started gluing.

What tricks do you use? I'd like to hear from you.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Scrapbook Sunday # 12

Hello,
It's Scrapbook Sunday again and I have a Butterfly scrapbook page to share today.

First I created the butterfly outline by creating a stamp with Fun Foam. I used the butterfly thinlit die to cut the Fun Foam.

Then I stamped on the page 3 times with the die that I had created using VersaMark ink. I embossed them with clear embossing powder.

Next I used sponge daubers to color in the butterflies, but you could use markers, colored pencils, aqua painters or watercolors.

Then I sponged in the sky (the base paper is Pirouette Pink).

Can you see the small perforations? I stamped the swirl from Everything Eleanor on a piece of vellum. Then I laid the vellum on the page and chose some of the swirls to pierce.

Any questions, let me know!

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Scrapbook Sunday # 10

Another Scrapbook Sunday! Where does the time go?

Today I created another Project Life page. I am still trying to get used to using the pocket cards and putting pages together with them. This time I used a retired set of cards for the page called, Everyday Adventure. I didn't get the accessory pack for this card set and now I wish I had it. I decided to tie the page together with buttons, because of course my grandson is as cute as a button! I wish I had a stamp with that saying. I am either going to print that sentiment on a piece of overhead transparency or look through my stamp collection to see if I have it somewhere. I will add it to the top card and then add the journaling to the second card down.

One thing that I do when I make these pocket pages is add the embellishments to the outside of the pockets instead of to the actual cards or photos. It adds some texture and if I want to move or switch the embellishments it is much easier to remove the adhesive from the plastic pockets than it is from the photos or cards.

The top and bottom cards in the center row were a single card that I cut in half to tie the row together. I also added a border design in black to each card. The border stamp is from the Tin of Cards stamp set. The 'Love You' sentiment is from the Friendly Wishes stamp set.

Scrapbook Sunday # 9

First Trip to the Beach

Here is the page that I completed this week. It is the companion page for last week's page. It shows my grandson grabbing handfuls of sand for the first time and letting it run through his fingers. He was fascinated with it.

I used the same materials that I used last week.
I used two of the splatter stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge set to add a grainy effect to the Pool Party card stock behind the photos.

Here's what both pages look like side by side.

Scrapbook Sunday # 4

Have you been to Octoberfest? We like to go to the one in Mt. Angel, Oregon. It is during September and the weather is usually warm and beautiful.
Last year we took a friend who had only been in Oregon a couple of years and had never attended one. We had a good time watching the children do the May Pole dance, attending the Alpenhorn concert, and watching the Tyrolean Dancers.
There are also booths of hand crafted items and food booths sponsored by various charitable organizations.
Here's the scrapbook page I made of our visit this year.
I realize that I could have made 2 or 3 pages with these 4 photos, but I decided I really didn't want to take up that many pages in my album for this one event. I don't usually do much cropping to photos, but in this instance I decided that it would enhance the page if the photos were cropped. The top photo was left full size because I wanted to show some of the buildings in the center of town along with the Tyrolean Dancers. The May Pole dance photo was cropped because the buildings and trees behind the May Pole were so distracting that it was hard to see the May Pole. I cropped the Alpenhorn group photo because the people and parking lot behind them were distracting. The bottom photo has the top 1/4 of the photo cropped off because the crowd watching in the background made it hard for the eye to concentrate on the children and what they were doing. All that cropping made it possible to get the photos on the page. There is still enough space around them that it isn't totally overwhelmed.
I used Sahara Sand card stock for the page base. The leaf paper was from last year's Holiday Catalog. I cut close to a line of leaves on the edge of the paper and then chopped it off straight on the left edge and adhered it to the page. First though, I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to stamp splatters and lines all over the base paper. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamps on the Project Life grid journal cards that I cropped down to fit in the places for the Title and journaling.
To complete the page I cut out a few leaves from the Designer Series Paper and put them in the open areas of the page.

Scrapbook Sunday # 3

For this week's Scrapbook Sunday I am sharing a Project Life page. I probably should share this on Thursday as a Throwback Thursday project because the Stampin' Up! set of Project Life cards were from the Holiday Catalog last year. The new Holiday catalog will be coming out in the not-to-far-distant-future. So this set of cards is not longer available, but we don't have long to wait for the new set!

Project Life pages are quick and easy to put together. For this page I added washi tape and an embossed glittery snowflake to the card in the upper right corner. Then I used the Project Life embellishment set for the center bottom card and added the 'DEC' and the '2013'. Also the little tag that is on the photo in the upper left pocket (Let's get festive) is from the same embellishment set. The card in the lower left pocket is for my journaling.

Have a blessed day,
Trude
