Friday Friend Share

This card is a valentine that my stamping buddy, Susie, sent me. I was looking at it today and thinking that it could also be transformed into a June strawberry card.

Susie, put some green caps on the red hearts, maybe using a flower punch, and create a strawberry card for me! You know how I love strawberries! ☺

The strawberry stands are set up in my neighborhood and ready to go. I can hardly wait.

Tuesday Tutorial # 79

Here it is another Tuesday! Time flies when you're having fun, the saying goes.

All the snow days we've had this month has helped me stay home so that I could catch up on all my projects and blogging. Actually my most time consuming project is this blog. I don't know how people keep up with their project creations, video creations and blog posts! I guess they are more organized than I am.

Enough talk! Here's this week's Tuesday Tutorial! ☺

Friday Friend Share

Here's a cute Valentine. Don't you just love the little Hedgehogs? They are so cute!

I'm not sure which company manufactured this stamp. There are several that have sold Hedgehog stamps, including Stampin' Up!.

Thanks Betty, for this cute little card.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Tuesday Tutorial 76

Happy New Year!

This is the first Tuesday Tutorial of a new year.

We have to get going on our valentines, so that is what I am sharing today. There are other occasions that would be appropriate for a heart card, so it doesn't have to be used for a valentine.

Sweetheart Banner

Yes, I know that Valentine's Day has come and gone. But I had an idea for a banner and I had to make it before the idea was gone.

I was making a pile of envelopes for my card making classes and the thought came to me to use the envelope punch board to create little envelopes for a banner. The smallest envelope on the board wasn't quite small enough so I just figured it out.

Stamp with Trude, Stampin' Up!, Valentine, Sweetheart Banner, envelope punch board, bird builder punch

I used last year's Valentines paper stack because I was just playing. But I think it would look really cute in this year's Valentine's paper stack too. Actually it might be even cuter in this years paper. Here's what the paper stack looks like. It's called Love Blossoms.

I also used Blushing Bride Glimmer paper, Real Red Glimmer paper, and Vellum.

I am so glad to see some sunshine today that I decided it was time to spread some sunshine around. Leave a comment on any post on my blog through the end of April 1st, then email me your address and I will send you some sunshine mail. No fooling!

Thanks for stopping by my studio today!

Tuesday Tutorial # 27 Heart Smile Greeting card

The week's Tuesday Tutorial uses a thinlits die from the upcoming Spring Occasions catalog. Isn't it fun to have sneak peeks of upcoming products? That is what's fun about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we get to see what is in the new catalogs a couple of months before everyone else!

Throwback Thursday # 9

For today's Throwback Thursday card I used two retired sets; Around and About and Mini Messages. It was a challenge for me to do something with the Around and About set. I looked for inspiration in magazines and on Pinterest. Finally I decided to use it in an unconventional way, to create a background. I also needed something to go inside the frames so I pulled out the Mini Messages set.

mpwithtrude.blogspot.com, Stampin' Up!, Around and About stamp set

I didn't have any black Stampin' Up! ribbon, retired or current, so I pulled out some retired Thick Twine and dyed it black (request this tutorial to learn how I did that). I decided to add a little extra sparkle to the card so I pulled out some heart rhinestones that I got on clearance at the local craft store...love to pick up embellishment on close-out after a holiday!

Retired products I used

  • Basic Black Textured card stock
  • Around and About stamp set
  • Mini Messages stamp set
  • Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker's Twine
  • Poppy Parade ink
  • Poppy Parade card stock

Current products I used

  • Whisper White card stock
  • Jet Black Stazon
Other products
  • heart rhinestones from craft store
Thanks for checking out my Thursday Throwback creation today!

1 Last Valentine Triple Play

Okay, I know that yesterday was Valentine's Day, but I still have one left to share.
This is a card that Brian King designed, I recreated it because I liked what he had done. I used heart rhinestone (not Stampin' Up!) where he used candy dots. And I used Shimmery White card stock where he used Whisper White. Other than that it is  pretty much a direct case.

Then I wanted to see what it would look like with some of the other fun papers from the Stacked With Love Designer Series paper stack, so I created this one. It is the same layout that Brian created but the printed papers are different, and of course I used the Shimmery White card stock and the heart shaped rhinestones.

I thought this would be a fun one to give to my husband, but there was too much pink, so I used Brian King's same card layout and switched out the color of the card base.

Yup, that works for me!

Painted Petals Valentine

Next week is Valentine's Day. Are you ready? Here's a valentine that could be used for other occasions as well. It would be a cute birthday card or a sweet friendship card. Maybe it would make a nice anniversary card or a cheery greeting card for someone special.

stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Trude Thoman, Painted Petals, Valentine card, Stampin' Up!
The Painted Petals stamp set is a 2-step stamp set. I stamped the flowers first and then I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to put the stems where I wanted them.

Have you noticed the Confetti heart border punch in the spring Occasions catalog? I used it for the border at the bottom of the card, but I also used it to punch some tiny hearts out of red glimmer paper to use for the centers of the roses.

Envelope punch board Child's Valentine

I was playing around with scraps and my Stampin' Up! envelope punch board and came up with this valentine that would be perfect for a child to give to friends at school.

You need some printed paper strips about 3 1/2" x 7" and some 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" plain paper scraps for the hearts.
Fold the printed paper in half, insert it into the envelope punch board, centered on the top edge. Punch. Align the top left edge with the center of the punch window and punch. Move it to the right edge aligned with the center of the window and punch, Flip it to the right edge and punch at about the half way mark, then punch the right edge at about the half way point. Insert the plain piece in the punch board and repeat the process, then trim the lower right and left pieces off in line with the punched edge.

Products used:
Envelope punch board #133774
Crazy Mixed-Up Love stamp set- Wood #131068, Clear #131071
Basic Black Classic Stampin' ink #126980
scraps of paper

Spellbinder Die-Cut Valentine

I cut the two layers of the valentine with Spellbinder dies. then I layered and stamped on them. I created a triangle sleeve to hold the valentine. I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out the lock and key.

This one takes a little longer because of the Cricut die cutting. It is a fun card with a unique holder.

Enjoy,

Trude

We Love You Greeting Card

I used collage paper for this card. I cut 2 labels with Spellbinder dies, cut them in half, layered them and stamped the sentiment. I adhered printed paper to a square card base, adhered a gold strip on top and bottom of the collage paper and adhered it to the printed paper on the card base. Next I wrapped and tied a piece of ribbon around the front of the card. Finally, I adhered the layered labels and embellished with 3 flowers.

Happy Stamping,

Trude
