Scrapbook Sunday # 8

I'm working on the photos from a couple of years ago when my grandson visited the west coast for the first time. This scrapbook page shows the first time that he set his little feet in the sand.

Right now Stampin' up! doesn't have any nautical, beach themed Designer Series Papers that I could put this page together with so I had to be creative.

Scrapbook Sunday, Stampin' Up!, Trude Thoman, The Open Sea, From Land to Sea, Stamp with Trude
I used the swirl stamp from Everything Eleanor to get some splashy waves and I used two stamp sets to decorate the punched circles; The Open Sea and From Land to Sea.

The card stocks are:

  • Marina Mist
  • Pool Party
  • Night of Navy
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Crumb Cake
  • Whisper White

The Designer Series paper is:

  • English Garden

 The Stamp sets I used:

The Open Sea

Paper Pumpkin Remake # 1

I received the Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! a few days ago and I have been playing with it.

Here's the first remake:

Trude Thoman, stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Stampin' Up!, April Paper Pumkin remake, Masculine card, encouragement, #stampinup, The Open Sea, Adventure Awaits
I like the look of craft paper in masculine cards. So, instead of using the bows and papers that came with the kit, I grabbed some Night of Navy ink, the Adventure Awaits, and The Open Sea stamp sets.

I stamped the envelope with stamps from The Open Sea stamp set and then Added the stamped element from Adventure Awaits. I also used Thick Baked Brown Sugar Baker's twine instead of the twine that came with the kit.

For the card that goes inside the tag pocket, I cut a piece of Whisper white the same size as the kit cards. Then I added a piece of the Designer Series Paper that is in the Maritime paper pack. I stamped The Open Sea ship image on Whisper White and cut it out with an oval framelit die.

Susie's Seaside Banner

Well, it took me a few days but I finally got some photos of Susie's completed banner to post. Her version has a little more "grown-up" feel than mine does. She did a wonderful job.

bitty banner punch and large scallop edgelit

She used some of the same basic items I did but added stamps from the Open Ocean, and Wetlands stamp sets, plus the banners on top with the stamped words. Don't you love this? Doesn't it just inspire you to get out your supplies and create a summer time beach banner for yourself?

Happy Stamping!
