Betty made this card for my birthday. She said she used a premade card base and added the flowers and sentiment.
Good job Betty. Good luck with some of the other wilder graphics in the set! I'm not sure it would be easy for me to put a card together with bold chevrons and stripes in the background either.
Have a blessed day,
Trude

Tuesday Tutorial # 95 Stylized Birthday
Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Birthday Card
Do you have this thinlit set yet? Are you glad that it is being carried over for another year? I am glad, because I haven't had enough time to really use it and be creative with it. So I thought that I would play with it for the Tuesday Tutorial and this is what I came up with.

Friday Friend Share
This is a card that Eileen sent. Isn't it unique? It folds flat to go into an envelope, but when you take it out of the envelope it opens into the shape of an X so that it stands by itself and the portrait is suspended in the cut-out area.
Layering ovals Framelits would work well to recreate this card.

Tuesday Tutorial # 82
This is a fun stamp set that I have had for many months and haven't had time to play with. It is more of a March card that I have created this time. I guess I just can't wait for spring and kite flying weather! ☺

Friday Friend Share
My Friday Friend Share this week is from my friend, Jeannie.
She used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder, that is now retired, for the frame. Then used 5 different embossed squares and one square tied with ribbon to create a card that resembles a quilt. Although, the ribbon tied square makes me think of a gift. It would make a nice birthday card, or with switched out colors, a Christmas card.
Have a blessed day,
Trude

Guy Greeting cards- 1 of 3
I think this is the most recent acquisition of mine. It is the Guy Greetings stamp set that is in the Stampin' Up! spring Occasions catalog and is also going to be in the new 2015/2016 annual catalog when it comes out.
I sat down and created 3 cards from the stamp set. I used Mojo Monday sketches for layout ideas.
The inside says, "Happy Birthday to a classic"
The papers are from the Spring Occasions catalog, it is the Adventure Bound paper stack.

I will share another one with you next time. Thanks for stopping by!

Hexagon Quilt Card
Here's a card that I created because I haven't played with these items much. I have had the hexagon embossing folder, punch and stamp sets that go with them, but just haven't pulled them out to play with.
My mom makes a lot of quilts and it is her birthday next week, so I thought this would be a good theme for a card. Plus she has too many flowers to count, so it is a perfect fit; flowers and quilts.
I thought it would look pretty with a butterfly, so I added the Butterfly Basics stamp set butterfly and layered it on the die cut butterfly from the new Butterfly framelit set.
I used a brayer to apply Crushed Curry ink to the embossing folder before I ran it through the Big Shot. That's why you can see the embossed lines on the background paper.
I used Designer Series paper and the hexagon punch for the flowers and leaves. But if you want to you can use the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and stamp and punch the flowers and leaves.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I punched it out with the Word Window punch and matted it with the modern label punch.

Big News Birthday Card
This birthday card is created with the Big News Stampin' Up! stamp set. I like this stamp set because it has Big Bold greetings that make it easy to create very quick cute cards. I already shared one stamp with you from the set...the Happily Ever After stamp. The candle is in the same set, but the little scattered stars are in the Be the Star set.
To create the 'glow' around the 'flames' I used a sponge dauber to sponge circles of ink; then I used Dazzling Details to add some sparkle to the star flames. I also stamped a row of stars along the bottom of the inside of the card and then randomly stamped several candles across the border.
I like the way the card turned out and will probably do a stack of them to put in my birthday organizer. I can't seem to keep up with birthday cards. This one is so quick that it should help me get ahead a little.
That's it for today. Remember to check out yesterday's blog and enter a comment by Saturday night so you can have a chance to win the blog candy!
Happy Day!

5th of 5 CASEd Stampin' Up! Cards and Blog Candy
Today is the last entry for my CASE Series. Don't worry, I will be sharing more Stampin' Up! cards with you almost every day.
This card is created with the Be the Star stamp set and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. Do you have Gorgeous Grunge yet? Have you used it much? I use it a lot! It really is such a useful stamp set. I would love to hear if you have used it, or if it is on your wish list. Sooo... I have a set of 3 stamps from the April 2013 Paper Pumpkin Kit that I am going to give away as blog candy when you tell me if you have the set and how much you use it. I will go to random.org on Sunday, August 10th to pick a random winner from the comments. The deadline for comments is Saturday, August 9th at 11:59 PM. I will post the winner after noon on Sunday.
* Here's a hint about cutting out the On Film Framelit...put a piece of waxed paper between the die and the card stock. Your die cut will be easier to remove if you do!
Well, that's it for today. Please leave a comment! I would love to hear from you and be your Stampin' Up! contact if you don't have a demo already!

Happy Stamper's New Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop, thanks for stopping by.
I have one sweet baby card to share with you and a Masculine card that would make a nice card for a birthday or Father's Day.
For the baby card I used the new baby stamp set, Something for Baby. This set is very sweet and the new word set, Something to Say, coordinates with it perfectly. I love it! I also used the new decorative heart mask. It comes in a set along with a star mask. I lightly sponged the entire front with hearts and on the inside I chose to sponge the hearts just along the bottom edge. The mask brings a design element from the front of the card to the inside of the card and is the perfect finishing touch! I used a 2010 Mojo Monday Sketch (#147) to create the layout for this card.
For the second card I made a Masculine card using the stamp set, Travelers. I also used the new Maritime Designer Series Paper. To bring the design from the front to the inside, for that perfect finishing touch, I added a strip of the Maritime Designer Series Paper along the bottom edge. I also used a 2010 Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. Can you tell I like to try Mojo Monday Sketches? I like to enter their weekly challenges, but I also like to go to their archives, choose a layout and design a card around it. There are years of layouts to choose from.
One of my lucky blog readers will receive this Decorative Dots embossing folder and a 6" x 6" stack of retired Designer Series Papers.

Another Great Year Birthday Card
This card is a CAS (clean and simple) card. The Paper Players have a color challenge that works well for a masculine card. It doesn't have any pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, lace, flowers or pink on it. The stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog. It is called Another Great Year. The moment I saw it I knew I wanted it to create bold masculine birthday cards. This is the first one I have created with the set.
Tip:
To add contrast to the lettering on the banner I grabbed the White Stampin' Chalk Marker. It helps pop the words and the color adds continuity with the white on the background paper.
Supply list:
Smoky Slate card stock
Marina Mist card stock
Crushed Curry card stock
Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper
Another Great Year stamp set
Marina Mist Classic Stampin' ink
Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' ink
White Stampin' Chalk Marker
Subtles Collection Candy Dots
Stampin' sponge

You're My Hero Card
The Paper Players have a clean and simple sketch this week. This is my card for their weekly challenge.
There are several Police officers in my family, so I bought this set this month to make some cards. The set also comes with an ambulance and a fire truck to cover other "Heroes" in our lives. My grandson is into cars, so I think he will enjoy receiving a card with one of these vehicles stamped on it too.
Products I used:
Soft Suede card stock
Soft Sky card stock
Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper stack
You're My Hero stamp set
Stazon ink
Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder
Snail adhesive
