Pleasant Poppies Thank You Card

This card is for The Paper Players sketch challenge #197. It is a clean and simple sketch. I used Stampin' Up! Pleasant Poppies stamp set and kept it clean and simple (CAS).

Easter Blessings Spring CAS

This is my CAS (Clean and Simple) Stampin' Up! card for the Paper Players CAS "spring" challenge. CAS can be hard to do. You don't want your card to look like you just pulled out a stamp and applied it to a piece of paper. But you do want it to be without too much fuss. This card has three basic elements; an embossed background adds interest and anchors the elements, a banner adds balance and interest to the left side, and the art piece is the focal point and final important element.

 

 Daffodils, Tulips and Crocus really say spring to me. So far I have seen patches of crocus and dots of daffodils, but I haven't seen tulips. They won't be far behind though!

Another Great Year Birthday Card

This card is a CAS (clean and simple) card. The Paper Players have a color challenge that works well for a masculine card. It doesn't have any pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, lace, flowers or pink on it. The stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog. It is called Another Great Year. The moment I saw it I knew I wanted it to create bold masculine birthday cards. This is the first one I have created with the set.

Tip:
To add contrast to the lettering on the banner I grabbed the White Stampin' Chalk Marker. It helps pop the words and the color adds continuity with the white on the background paper.

The Paper Players Spring Thank You Card

Okay, so maybe the ship card wasn't the best example of a spring thank you card. When you think of spring, you think of colors that are light and bright, not browns and blues. So, here's another go at the spring thank you card for the Paper Players Challenge.

What do you think; is that better?
I Used the Hardwood stamp (again) to create the 'planter' for the poppies. The poppies stamp is called Pleasant Poppies. Both the Hardwood stamp and the Pleasant Poppies are by Stampin' Up!

I chose to color these poppies with colored pencils. It has been quite a while since I pulled out my colored pencils. I should use them more often. I've always enjoyed coloring. I can still remember my first color book and pack of crayons. I think I got them for Christmas when I was 5 years old. It was a Disneyland color book with pictures of Mickey and all his friends. That was a few years back, but that's what an impression it made on me!

You're My Hero Card

The Paper Players have a clean and simple sketch this week. This is my card for their weekly challenge.

There are several Police officers in my family, so I bought this set this month to make some cards. The set also comes with an ambulance and a fire truck to cover other "Heroes" in our lives. My grandson is into cars, so I think he will enjoy receiving a card with one of these vehicles stamped on it too.
