It was a beautiful day

It was a beautiful day to be on Mt. Hood snowshoeing with my husband and friends! The sky was blue and the trees were bundled with snow. We went on a short jog that took about 1 1/2 hours. It was 24 degrees up there!

Bootiful Occasions Christmas Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman
To make the card base I used Bashful Blue card stock and sprayed it with Smooch spray to make it sparkle. Then I used the Snow Flurry Big Shot die by Stampin' Up! and the Bootiful Occasions stamp set.
It is hard to see the sentiment stamped down in the right hand corner because of all the sparkle sprayed over it. The sentiment says, "Warm winter wishes down to your toes".

the Bootiful Occasions stamp set is a fun set from Stampin' Up! It has 4 different boots with sayings. I will be sharing the cowboy boot card I made.

The cutting die for this purse is from Stampin' Up! It makes a Petite Purse that is just right for party favors at weddings or showers.

For this purse I used Be of Good Cheer Designer Series paper by Stampin' Up! and three colors of card stock. The snowflake die cut and button die cut are also by Stampin' Up! I used Stampin' Up!s Dazzling Details on the snowflake to make it sparkle.

Owl Builder Punch Cute Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman
Isn't this a cute card? My friend Susie M. showed me how to make this. It uses Stampin' Up!s owl builder punch and the scalloped oval punch.

I used the woodgrain embossing folder to create a log for the 3 owls to sit on.

What occasion would you use this card for? I can't decide.

Happy Stamping Day!

Four Seasons Christmas Gift Tag

I used the Four Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up! to create these gift tags.

I used the single snowflake from the same set to stamp a strip of Marina Mist paper to use on the blue tag.

I used the baby wipe technique to stamp the snowflake wreath. You dot several colors of reinkers onto a baby wipe and use that as an ink pad for the stamp. It makes subtle color variations on the stamped image.

I like red, white and blue stamping for Christmas and winter themes. What is your favorite combination?

Have a crafty day,

Trude

Christmas Lodge Treat Holder

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman
I used the tree from the Stampin' Up! Christmas Lodge stamp set for this treat holder.

I made this treat holder like a giant cream cheese pinch pack dispenser. You fold and glue the bottom and then pinch the top in the opposite direction and glue it.

It is 5 1/2" long/tall. It is stamped on Cherry Cobbler card stock and for the bow I used Very Vanilla seam binding, all items are Stampin' Up!

Happy Stamping!

Owl Builder Punch Tag

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman
Are you back home after your crazy rush to get good deals on Christmas presents during Black Friday? Do you need some ideas for gift tags for those presents? Here's a cute one. I made it with the Stampin' Up! owl builder punch. I also used the top of the Stampin' Up! pennant punch to punch a hat for him.

To get the bottom of the Santa suit...the white border, you need to punch a shallow crescent (the bottom of the owls clothes) on the edge of a white strip of card stock and then punch again a fraction of an inch in from the edge of the first scallop. That gives you the small white crescent to attach to the bottom of the Santa suit.

While you're looking for Black Friday deals, check out Stampin' Up!s sale. The sales don't end with Black Friday, they are good through the 38th of November.

I have 2 more cute gift tags that I created with Stampin' Up!s Four Seasons hostess stamp set that I will be posting tomorrow.

What stamp set would you like to see me make Christmas tags with?

My Digital Studio 2+ page

I had some time to play with My Digital Studio 2+. It is a Stampin' Up! digital scrapbook program. You can also make calendars and banners and party decorations. Of course it will make cards...that's why I bought the program! You can also make journals and tags, it seems the list is endless!
This is the first page project I have tried. I know that it is basic, but it gives you an idea of what it can do. I can hardly wait to play with it more.

Update:So sad that it is now retired

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love getting together with friends and relatives. We visit for hours and eat way too much!

Somewhere I read the other day that it is strange how on Thanksgiving we celebrate the things we are thankful for and then the following day we go out and act crazy trying to get more.

How about you? Will your peace and thankfulness be stolen the following day in the rush of consumerism? I hope for you peace throughout the holiday season.

I used Soft Suede card stock for the handle and Soft Suede Markers for the details. I used the Itty Bitty punch pack to cut out the detail on the purse flap.

The purse was cut out with Stampin' Up!s Petite Purse Die for the Big Shot.

Halloween Treat Envelope

I made this Halloween Treat holder using the Petite Pocket Big Shot Die from Stampin' Up! I also used the My Digital Studio program to design and print the label. These are quick and easy. It took about 10 minutes to design and print the label and then another 10 minutes to cut, assemble and fill the envelope.

Bold Birthday Card

I used Stampin' Up!'s Apothecary Accents framelit to cut out the label for the birthday sentiment. I used a preprinted card that I bought at Michael's a few years ago. And I used a Sizzix embossing folder. This card is quick because you start with the premade card base. The design is simple enough, without extra fluff, that it is appropriate to use for a guy (strong colors, strong lines).

Scentsational Season Get Well Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman
Be ready for cold and flu season by making some of these cards to have on hand to send to friends and family. They would be surprised and pleased and maybe even get well sooner, you never know!
I used the Scentsational Season stamp set from Stampin' Up! to create this card. The set is from the holiday catalog and has the mug and steam stamps in it. The mug has a snowflake on the front, but I stamped 'for you' from the Elements of Style stamp set by Stampin' Up!, punched it out with a 3/4 inch punch and adhered it over the top of the snowflake.

I used the 's{ick}' stamp from Stampin' Up!s Word Play stamp set for the front of the card.

The 4 paper panels on the card are all Stampin' Up! designer series paper, from the Twitterpated set.

Distractions

I haven't posted for awhile. I've been distracted. Isn't he cute? My grandson.
I am trying to get back into the swing of things and have a lot of catching up to do. I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks and that was on top of helping my sister move out of her house to Alaska. That project took me most of three and a half weeks, so now you know why I haven't been posting. But I am back!
I am working on some tutorials for some of the Stampin' Up! cards that I have posted. The first one I will have ready in a couple of days (I hope...my other job is getting in the way!). It is for the Christmas card on the right. It is a Stampin' Up! set called Christmas Lodge.

family reunion

Husband out flying his pirate ship kite
I haven't posted any new cards for several days because I was playing at the beach. Well, most of the time I was having fun visiting and laughing with my cousins, aunts, uncles, parents and siblings. The beach wasn't as fun this week as it was last week because the wind was too strong. When we went down to the beach for a walk we got sand blasted!

Giant paper cupcakes

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com
Aren't these cupcakes cute?! We were at a baby dedication and someone had made these to use as decorations, along with the pots of giant paper flowers in the background.
I think I was told this was an idea from the internet...possibly Martha Stewart, I'm not sure. I just think they turned out very cute.
The base is accordion folded paper covering a cottage cheese carton. The top is made with punched paper circles covering 1/2 a sphere of Styrofoam.
