Chalk Talk Tag and Bag

I made this project to give to all the attendees at my card class last month. It is a CASE from the Stampin' Up! 2013/2014 annual catalog. I just changed the color of the bag and the banner. I also changed the bag's edge finish and used a different Designer Series Paper. They are the perfect size for a bag of Easter jelly beans! Stampin' Up! gift bag by Trude Thoman Chalk Talk stamp set
The Chalk Talk stamp set isn't retiring this year, but the little flower sizzlit, the Itty Bitty flower punch from the punch pack and the little leaves sizzlit are all going away. I will miss them, they make cute little accents.

Enjoy the Day!

Gingham Garden Tea Party All Occasion Card

Are you ready for a spring tea party?

Here's another Gingham Garden card. I'm not really stuck in a rut...I am just challenging myself to create many different cards with one Designer Series Paper pack. It is amazing to me how many cards can be created with one single pack of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. I would have to look back to the samples that I created a year ago and figure out how many cards we made in class with this pack of paper to get a good idea of just how many cards can be created with one pack. I am still using the original pack that I purchased!

Here's my card creation for the Freshly Made Sketch challenge #133 Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman Tea Party stamp set

I received my first batch of Stampin' Up! co-branded Project Life supplies yesterday afternoon. All I can say is, I am so happy! I have used the Becky Higgins Project Life system and have tried incorporating the idea into my Stampin' Up! scrapbook classes, but this will make it SO much easier. I will try to get some samples made up soon so that you can see what it looks like. Actually, I put a video on my Pinterest page that you can view to get a sneak peak. I even made a special Project Life board on my Pinterest where I will be pinning all kinds of ideas very soon. Check it out at

Enjoy the Day!

Gingham Garden Encouragement Card

I created a card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge that continued the use of the Gingham Garden DSP. The Gingham Garden paper pack is perfect for spring cards and other paper projects. It will be fun to see what new spring papers that Stampin' Up! will have in the new catalog when it comes out in June.

I used the bird from the Backyard Basics set and then when I checked the retired list this morning I found out that the Backyard Basic set is sold out and no longer available. I like this bird because it is realistic and can be colored in so many ways. Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman Blessing from Heaven stamp set

Mojo Monday 342 Gingham Garden Greeting Card

It is time to post another Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. This week I am revisiting a Designer Series Paper that I used last spring. It was one of the items that I was allowed to purchase early to start making samples. Stampin' Up! doesn't "open the store" to demos before the catalog goes live. They select a few items that we can purchase early to get our classes ready for when the catalog goes live. This Designer Paper was one of those items. The paper pack is called Gingham Garden and it is now on the retiring products list, so it is only available while supplies last. It reminds me of fabric from 1950 or earlier. Happy Resurrection Day!

I am sharing some cards from Susie today. She used the Stampin' Up! Blessed Easter tulips stamp to create three cards. The stamp is perfect for spring card stamping. It is easier to use to make spring cards if you separate the greeting from the tulips. I like to do that to make the stamp more versatile. If you look at a couple of my previous posts you will find that I used the sentiment (Wishes for a Blessed Easter) on other cards that I didn't stamp the tulips on. Stampin' Up! Easter Egg Scrapbook Page

Great News yesterday from Stampin' Up! They are working with Becky Higgins to create Project Life materials that have Stampin' Up! colors and themes. I am so HAPPY! I have been using pocket pages and some Project Life materials for a year and love the convenience that the system offers.
I have still been creating scrapbook pages the old fashioned way for my scrapbook classes. Now I will be able to mix it up with Stampin' Up!s own Project Life materials.
Here is the scrapbook page I designed for tonight's scrapbook class. Stampin' Up! Easter scrapbook page

Till next time, Have a Happy Stampin' day!

Easter Egg Card

Now I remember why rainy days aren't so bad...I get more time to play with my stamps and do sketch challenges!
This week the weather has been beautiful, so I have been mowing and applying moss killer to my lawn. It is nice to be out enjoying the blue sky and warm weather, I know it is short lived.
I finally had a chance to sit down with my Stampin' Up! papers and create a card for Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. If you haven't joined the fun over at Mojo Monday, you should really check it out and give it a try.
Here's my entry for this week's sketch challenge. Stampin' Up! Easter card by Trude Thoman Blessed Easter stamp set
I used the sentiment from the Blessed Easter stamp ( spring occasions catalog).
I could just ink the greeting with a marker, but I think stamps are so much more versatile if the image and the sentiment are separate, so I carefully cut this stamp apart and I have used this sentiment on several cards without the lovely tulip image that goes with it.
Next thing I need to do is use the tulip image to create some cards. It needs equal time! I have noticed all the tulips blooming around the neighborhood. They are so beautiful, but the only way that beauty lasts is if we stamp tulips and create cards and scrapbook pages with them!
I hope you are getting some beautiful spring weather where you are!

Flower Shop Get Well Card

Here's a spring-fresh fancy fold card. I created this one for my March Occasions card class. The citrus colors make it fun and fresh, maybe just what a person needs to cheer them up when they aren't feeling well!

As you can see from the second photo, the card opens up and has plenty of space for you to write your greeting. Stampin' Up! Get Well card by Trude Thoman Flowershop stamp set Stampin' Up! Get Well card by Trude Thoman Flowershop stamp set

Easter Banner

It is time for a new banner! I know I just posted the spring one and I can go back to it after Easter is over. But for now, I will have this banner hanging in my home. I made it with Designer Series Paper that was in the Sale-A-Bration brochure for free (be sure and watch for Sale-A-Bration next year, you don't want to miss the free paper!) and the Watercolor Designer Series Paper that is in the Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions catalog. I used Maria Cameron's banner idea from Pinterest. Stampin' Up! easter banner by Trude Thoman

Simply Sketched Sympathy Card

It has been a week since I posted anything. I am usually done with taxes by now. But I am behind this year. I have been working on them as much as I can, but I have also been working away from home more than I usually do, so I just haven't made it there.

I do have some fun things to share. Sale-A-Bration is over and done for this year and now we have a new catalog to look forward to. Toward the end of the month Stampin' Up! will be posting the list of items that will be retiring and when those items sell out they are GONE! Some items get sold out very quickly after the list posts. Stampin' Up! sympathy card by Trude Thoman Simply Sketched stamp set

This is a label flip card that we made in our March Occasion cards class. The bird and verse are from a hostess stamp set that you can earn by hostessing a workshop. Give me a call if you would like to schedule a workshop to earn this stamp set!

I used Soft Sky card stock and Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. The paper was only available during Sale-A-Bration.

Here's a scrapbook page that my friend, Susie, made with the large sunflower from Stampin' Up! We were looking for examples of sunflower pages on the internet and didn't find many. She did a beautiful job, it looks so happy and sunny. scrapbook page by Susie Mosebach
