From the Herd Get Well Card

Another Stampin' Up! From the Herd card. This time it is a get well card.
I was trying to decide what color theme to use. I noticed the monochromatic color theme of my bedspread and decided to go in that direction to see what would happen. Here's the results.

I think my Father-in-law will get a kick out of this. He's rehabilitating from a fall and he likes silly animal cards.

Retro Age Awareness Birthday Card

Have you seen the Age Awareness Birthday stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalog? It is very fun!
The sentiment on this flip card is from the Age Awareness set. There are quite a few sentiments in the set that you can mix and match. On the inside of this card I used the one that says, "You look way better at this age than I thought you would." I think it is an appropriate one to send to my sister ☺☺.

I used the flip card die for the card base and I used Carol Paynes' card idea.

I used Typeset Designer Series Paper for the numbers on the right side of the card.

This card would be so much fun to share with the over 50's crowd. I think I should make a stack of them! Younger people might not even know what the red and black circles represent!

Have a blessed day,

Trude

Something Lacy Birthday Card

Stampin' Up! has a new background lace stamp. I really haven't had enough time to play with the one that they introduced in the Annual catalog last summer, but here it is, another lace background. I'm not complaining, except about the lack of time to play with them! I think the lace backgrounds are elegant and I like elegant cards.

The stamp is called Something Lacy. Here's the first card that I made with the stamp. I used the emboss resist technique.

emboss resist technique, Something Lacy, Stamp With Trude, Trude Thoman, stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Stampin' Up!, birthday card, floral, lace

This picture makes the Blackberry Bliss card stock almost appear black, it is a deep purple, very beautiful.

I stamped the Something Lacy stamp on Whisper White card stock with White craft ink and White embossing powder. Then I used Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, and Wisteria Wonder to color the piece. I rubbed the color in with Stampin' Sponges.

Enjoy the day!

Endless Birthday Wishes Card

Finally I am getting back to some card making and blogging. It isn't really that I haven't made any cards, it's just that I have been doing the monthly card making classes and banner class and I have been teaching and tutoring, so I haven't had the time to do the blogging.

I saw a card on Pinterest (don't you love Pinterest??) that I thought I would use as the inspiration for a card. I switched out a color, the stamp set and the sequins. I like the pop of color with the neutrals. I still think it would work as a masculine card with the pop of red instead of the gold. What do you think?

Summer Silhouette Floral Birthday Card

I'm thinking that I need to start making some valentines! But that isn't what I have to share with you today. I'm stuck on a birthday card streak because I always need a lot of birthday cards and I figured it would be good to make a bunch at the beginning of the year so I have some to choose from.

Here's today's
trude thoman, stampwithtrude.blogspot.com, summer silhouettes, thoughts and prayers, Sassy Salutations, stampin up, birthday card

It looks rather cheery and makes me think of spring.
I used; Sassy Salutations, Summer Silhouettes, and Thoughts and Prayers stamp sets.
I stamped the Thoughts and Prayers branch across the top of the Whisper white about 4 times with Daffodil Delight ink. Then I stamped a couple of leaf sprigs from the Summer Silhouette set with Pear Pizzazz that I stamped off once before stamping on the card. The Flowers from the Summer Silhouette set were stamped next using Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe and Tangerine Tango inks. I stamped the flower centers using Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry inks. Stamp the sentiment in Jet Black Stazon.
Layer the white on Tangerine Tango and then onto a Daffodil Delight base.

Moon Lake Masculine Birthday Card

I'm working on birthday cards for the coming year. It seems that I use many more masculine cards, so I created a masculine card with the Moon Lake stamp set. It will be available in the 2015 Occasions catalog that goes live January 6th.

stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , trude thoman, stampin up, bokeh technique, Moon Lake stamp set, masculine card

Have you tried the Bokeh technique yet? This is my first attempt. It is fun and not difficult. It is a little messy because you use watercolor paper, an aqua painter and several colors of reinker.

That's probably why I won't try this one in a class, you have to get it wet, ink it up and let it dry before you can stamp it.

I used So Saffron, Old Olive and Sahara Sand reinkers for the color. The card stocks are Mossy Meadow and Chocolate Chip.

There are so many fun craft supplies in my stamping store.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Journal It! # 1

Today I am beginning a journal series to help you do that journaling that you've always intended to do.
Since today is New Year's Day, the first journal prompt is about your expectations for the coming year. I'm not asking you to write down your resolutions or goals, just something that you would like to see happen in your life this year.

Journal Prompt- Write about something that you would like to see happen in your life this year.

This could include something personal that pertains to spiritual, physical, mental, or relational well being.

I suggest that you pull out a new notebook, or journal and that you write the journal prompt at the top of the page. You do not need to limit yourself to one single page for each journal prompt. Some days you may have a lot to say about the prompt and some days you will have little. Use as much space as you need to develop your thought.

Have fun with it!
I'll post the next journal prompt on the 3rd of January.

Have a blessed day,
Trude
