Mojo Monday Sea Street Baby Girl Card

I'm back to the Sea Street stamp set. I now have another stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! catalog and it is a baby set, but I thought I would make another baby card with the Sea Street set since I made a boy baby card with it already.
Yesterday afternoon it rained so hard that rivers were flowing down the street. I thought I did live on Sea Street! Glad I was indoors creating this cute card.
I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge (mojo347) for this card.

SSC76 Tea Party Card

Today's card is one that I created for Sunday Stamps Challenge 76 (SSC76). I used the Stampin' Up! Tea Party stamp set. I hadn't used the tea pot/flowers stamp yet so I thought I would use it for this card. I was inspired to color it with markers after I saw some samples on Pinterest. This stamp is fairly intricate and on the smaller side (about 2") so it is a little tricky to color. I had to get out my reading glasses to make sure the color was in the correct places!

Thank you card, thinking of you card, birthday card

Here's the Sunday Stamps sketch that I used for the card layout. It is a clean and simple layout (CAS).
I used:
Stamps- Tea Party, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink- Whisper White craft, Real Red marker, Old Olive marker, Smokey Slate marker
Paper- Basic White c.s., Cherry Cobbler c.s., Basic Black c.s., Modern Medley DSP
accessories- Bitty Banner framelits, Window framelits, EK ribbon punch

PPA205 Sea Street Baby Card

I'm going to post my Tuesday share late Monday night because I won't have time to post this in the morning.
This is the sketch challenge from Pals Paper Arts. I decided I wanted to do a monotone card but didn't want to do white, which led me to create this baby card. However, I think I might remake this card and make it a white on white with the Marina Mist accents.

This is the card:

  This is the Sketch:

By the Seashore Father's Day Card HSSSC186

Just as I promised, here is another masculine card. I used it for a Father's Day card but it would work great for a birthday or general Thinking of You card.

I used this Hand Stamped Sentiment Sketch Challenge (HSSSC186) but turned it upside down.

Father's Day, Masculine, Birthday

Just as in yesterday's card, I used a piece of sandpaper to embellish this card. It gives it texture and adds the 'feel' of being on a beach (plus many men can relate to sandpaper! *smile*) The Stamp sets I used are By the Seashore and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I would love to have been at the Oregon Coast this weekend. A couple of my friends that did go said that there were orca within sight of the beach. I guess the weather was great too!

I will just have to settle for my beachy cards for now.

I'm just starting to try my hand with alcohol markers. I used them to color the shells. I used watercolor paper on which to stamp and color. I tried the Whisper White card stock first, which is recommended, but think I will continue to use the watercolor paper until I have had some more practice.
I hope you had a great Memorial day weekend!

Wetlands Father's Day Card FMS137

Now that the Memorial Day weekend is all but done, it is time to start thinking about the card/s that you will create for Father's Day. This one is a CAS (Clean and Simple). You can use it for the guy that likes things simple and clean...or maybe you want to create a card that is quick, this works for that too!

I used the Wetland stamp set (©Stampin' Up!). Have you tried using sandpaper in any of your creations? It's a guy thing, so it's perfect for this card. I used it for the strip of 'sand'. I think the sea birds and 'sand' would look good with torn edges too.

Masculine birthday, thank you, thinking of you, father's day

I used the Freshly Made Sketch for this week
I will be sharing another Father's Day card tomorrow. Come back and check it out!

Mojo Monday 143 Sea Street Card

Happy Monday!
Mondays are happy because there is always a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge to work on!
Today I am reaching back a few years and visiting a previous Mojo Monday sketch, sketch #143. Sometimes I like to do that. Especially if I am crafting and creating on Sunday and just can't wait to do the next Mojo sketch!

I used the Sea Street stamp set again. I am wearing it out until I can get my hands on the other new stamp sets in the new catalog that goes live on the 1st of June. Can you tell that I can't wait? But Mr. Octopus is so cute that I haven't tired of him yet. I made 6 of these, all a little different. I just can't get enough birthday cards added to my stash for the kiddies. I am always running behind.

Mojo Monday 345 Sea Street Birthday Card

I went a little bit crazy today. I wanted to do some Sea Street cards that weren't the standard colors, you know, the ones that are in the Designer Series Paper that goes with this stamp set. I really do love the colors of the DSP, but after awhile you want to see something different.

So, I started by making one card, then I wondered what it would look like in another color combination, and pretty soon I had made four cards the same, only with different colors.

First I used the color combination from Hand Stamped Sentiments. I think it turned out pretty cute. It would be great for my grand niece.

Then I tried the color combination from Pals Paper Arts. This is a much stronger combination and I think it would work well for one of my grand nephews.

Then I thought I would try the set with the color challenge from Sunday Stamps. It is a high contrast combination but I think I could find some young ladies that would love these. I say 'these' because I tried a couple of different combinations of the colors. Which one do you like?

Flowering Flourishes All Occasion Card

Susie came over to play a couple of days ago. She has been sick so it had been a couple of weeks since we got together to create. She wanted to create some simple cards with Flowering Flourishes. It has been awhile since I have used that set, but it is a good one. I looked back through my tutorials and I only found a couple of cards that I have created with this set. I thought that I had used it more often than that. I did use it on two scrapbook pages this year; the one for February and the one for March.

We needed a clean and simple card for workshop guests who haven't had the experience of heat embossing. I think that these fit the bill.

Here's another card that we made with this set. It isn't difficult, but it does take more time to cut and add the layers.

Sea Street Postcard

I wanted to make a quick postcard to send out so I grabbed the Sea Street set that was still sitting on my desk and created this quick postcard.
http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! greeting card by Trude Thoman Sea Street stamp set
I used Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, and Melon Mambo ink pads. I also used Marina Mist, Melon Mambo and Pool Party Stampin' Write markers to color the school of fish.

On the back side I used the Stampin' Up! postcard (now retired).

When I create postcards to send in the mail I spray an art fixative on the front and back to set the ink. Both the printer ink and the Classic Stampin' inks will run if they get wet and you never know what kind of weather the mail will be subject to.

Sometimes I use clear contact paper on the front and back of postcards after I have completed the stamping and writing of my message. That will make a postcard stronger and help it last a little longer.

Sea Street Stampin' Up! Card

It is really overdue for me to post a new card! I have not been inspired to stamp for about a week. I did create at least 15 scrapbook pages. I finally pulled out all my Project Life supplies and some really old photos that I wanted to get into scrapbooks so that I can look at them once in awhile. I didn't do any stamping or embellishing, I hope to do that another time. I found, after I sorted them in the order that I wanted them in the book, it was not easy choosing the photo sleeve pages to put them in. I guess I need to get a few more page configurations.

I finally got a card made today. I really like this cute set from the new Stampin' Up! catalog. It's called Sea Street and reminds me of the graphics you might find on signs and buildings while strolling through a seaside town. I am going to be making a bunch of birthday cards and thank you cards with this set. I used a greeting from the Perfect Pennant set; the Sea Street set doesn't have any sentiments in it.

I used the colors that Hand Stamped Sentiments is currently challenging stampers to try. And I used the card technique that Technique Time Tuesday is featuring this month.

To see all the great cards that stampers have created with this color theme and linked to Hand Stamped Sentiments site click here.
