Throwback Thursday # 30

Another Episode of Throwback Thursday!

I have had too many other things to keep me distracted and busy and I haven't had the opportunity to pull out a retired stamp set and create a card, so today I decided to go for it!

Here is my creation...

Botanical Garden, Stampin' Up!, #stampinup, Stamp with Trude, greeting card, floral, Throwback Thursday

I used a set called Botanical Garden.

It is always tricky to photograph shiny materials. There are multiple shiny surfaces on this card. The Panel with the iris is glossy white paper that Stampin' Up! used to carry. The frame behind it is silver foil paper and is still available. The background is also embossed and inked on glossy white paper. The silver satin ribbon is still available.

I used the Elegant Dots embossing folder to emboss the background. Then I used a Happy Pattern stencil over the top and spritzed it with Wisteria Wonder reinker mixed with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer. I like the way it turned out and the technique is real easy!

Sweetheart Banner

Yes, I know that Valentine's Day has come and gone. But I had an idea for a banner and I had to make it before the idea was gone.

I was making a pile of envelopes for my card making classes and the thought came to me to use the envelope punch board to create little envelopes for a banner. The smallest envelope on the board wasn't quite small enough so I just figured it out.

Stamp with Trude, Stampin' Up!, Valentine, Sweetheart Banner, envelope punch board, bird builder punch

I used last year's Valentines paper stack because I was just playing. But I think it would look really cute in this year's Valentine's paper stack too. Actually it might be even cuter in this years paper. Here's what the paper stack looks like. It's called Love Blossoms.

I also used Blushing Bride Glimmer paper, Real Red Glimmer paper, and Vellum.

I am so glad to see some sunshine today that I decided it was time to spread some sunshine around. Leave a comment on any post on my blog through the end of April 1st, then email me your address and I will send you some sunshine mail. No fooling!

Thanks for stopping by my studio today!

Tuesday Tutorial # 39 Rose Wonder Wedding Wishes

Has it been awhile since you have tried using vellum on your paper creations? Vellum softens the appearance of the card.
For this card I put the vellum through the Decorative Dots embossing folder. I like how it added texture and softened the stark lines of the rose die cut.

Throwback Thursday # 30 Be Very Merry

I just discovered that this cute little card didn't get posted to my blog, so I thought I would share it for a Throwback Thursday.
I think it is a card that I created from a Mojo Monday sketch, which means it should have posted to my blog about 2 years ago! Better late than never, I guess.

, Throwback Thursday, Stamp with Trude, Christmas Card, retired sets
I used some beautiful Christmas Designer Series paper for the center stripe. The snowflake is die cut from silver glimmer paper.

Did you know that you can still get the Snow Flurry snowflake punch from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog? The coordinating stamp set is also available.

Mojo Monday 438 World of Thanks Card

I thought I would check out the Mojo Monday sketch today. It's a good one, as usual, so I decided to see what I could do with it.

I have too many stamps that I have never used. So, today I pulled a couple of sets out and created this card.

Banner Blast, World of Thanks, Thank You card, Mojo Monday 438, Stamp with Trude, Stampin' Up!
Mojo Monday 438

I used several greens. The card base and shamrock are Mossy Meadow. The circle and sentiments are Cucumber Crush.

Did you know that you can add color along the edges of the gold and silver ribbon? I didn't, but I tried it and it seemed to work quite well.
This is the first time that I used the White Perfect Accents. I really like them. I'm going to have to buy more of them! Maybe it will be one of the items I offer for free, with a $50.00 order, sometime in the near future.
I used a Sharpie to color it green and added it to the center of the shamrock.

Have a blessed day,
Banner Blessings

Tuesday Tutorial #35 Birthday Wishes Card

Today's card is created with a bundle from the Spring Occasions catalog. It includes the Party Wishes stamp set and punch sets.

Have you tried gate-fold cards? They are really easy and make the card look a little more special.
