Friday Friend Share

Are you ready for some spring? Here in Oregon, almost everyone, at least everyone that I know, is ready for the ice to go and the flowers to grow.

Here's a card from my friend Betty. She used the Festive Flower Builder punch (Stampin' Up!) to create the tulips. Isn't it clever? It is an easel card that she sent for Easter.

Thank you Betty for the pot of spring!

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Easter Treat Bag Topper

This was something fun that I made for Easter. A friend posted the recipe on Facebook. She probably got it from Pinterest. It is called Easter Treat and it is a recipe from Connie Brumley Sutton.

stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Trude Thoman, Easter Treat bag

The treat is made with mini pretzels, popcorn, rice chex, almond bark, Peanut M&Ms and Easter sprinkles. It got great reviews.

I decided to use some printed card stock from a Martha Stewart stack that I bought at least 5 years ago. It included stickers and I thought that would make some quick decorations.

I used the Stampin' Up! Top Note die to cut the paper. Then I used the Modern Label punch, the Word Window punch and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the Easter greeting.

When I pulled the sticker off the backing sheet to apply it to the bag topper I discovered that the sticker was printed on the backing sheet! In other words, what was suppose to be the backing sheet that releases the label was actually the card stock sticker sheet that was suppose to be printed. So that means that the printed part was printed on the release paper and would not stick to the bag topper. That type of release paper WILL NOT stick with double side tape, glue or any other adhesive. I had to use a brad to attach it to the bag topper. If I had purchased the paper stack within the last 30 days I would have returned it to the craft store. I purchased it too long ago to do anything about it.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Paper Pumpkin Remake

I think this is the last of the February and March Paper Pumpkin remakes. This is a remake of the envelopes that came with the accordion cards. I used it to create a little treat box for my friend for Easter. I filled it with Jelly Belly jelly beans.
stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Trude Thoman, Paper Pumpkin, Stampin' Up!, treat box, Easter, Crazy About You stamp set
I used the Crazy About You stamp set from Stampin' Up!s spring Occasions catalog. The leaves and flower are included with MANY words that you can combine to create greetings for almost any Occasion. It's a favorite from the catalog.

I believe I used Melon Mambo and Garden Green inks to stamp the box. The twine is the thick Bakers twine that was free during Sale-A-Bration.

Easter Egg Scrapbook Page

Great News yesterday from Stampin' Up! They are working with Becky Higgins to create Project Life materials that have Stampin' Up! colors and themes. I am so HAPPY! I have been using pocket pages and some Project Life materials for a year and love the convenience that the system offers.
I have still been creating scrapbook pages the old fashioned way for my scrapbook classes. Now I will be able to mix it up with Stampin' Up!s own Project Life materials.
Here is the scrapbook page I designed for tonight's scrapbook class.

Easter Egg Card

Now I remember why rainy days aren't so bad...I get more time to play with my stamps and do sketch challenges!
This week the weather has been beautiful, so I have been mowing and applying moss killer to my lawn. It is nice to be out enjoying the blue sky and warm weather, I know it is short lived.
I finally had a chance to sit down with my Stampin' Up! papers and create a card for Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. If you haven't joined the fun over at Mojo Monday, you should really check it out and give it a try.
Here's my entry for this week's sketch challenge.

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! Easter card by Trude Thoman Blessed Easter stamp set
I used the sentiment from the Blessed Easter stamp ( spring occasions catalog).
I could just ink the greeting with a marker, but I think stamps are so much more versatile if the image and the sentiment are separate, so I carefully cut this stamp apart and I have used this sentiment on several cards without the lovely tulip image that goes with it.
Next thing I need to do is use the tulip image to create some cards. It needs equal time! I have noticed all the tulips blooming around the neighborhood. They are so beautiful, but the only way that beauty lasts is if we stamp tulips and create cards and scrapbook pages with them!
I hope you are getting some beautiful spring weather where you are!

Easter Banner

It is time for a new banner! I know I just posted the spring one and I can go back to it after Easter is over. But for now, I will have this banner hanging in my home. I made it with Designer Series Paper that was in the Sale-A-Bration brochure for free (be sure and watch for Sale-A-Bration next year, you don't want to miss the free paper!) and the Watercolor Designer Series Paper that is in the Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions catalog. I used Maria Cameron's banner idea from Pinterest.

Mini milk carton Easter project

I used Stampin Up's mini milk carton die for the Big Shot to make this Easter candy holder. I used the eyelet edge punch and the Everybunny Stampin' Around wheel to decorate the sides.
They are quick and easy and can be used for Easter Brunch place setting decorations.
