This card is a CAS (clean and simple) card. The Paper Players have a color challenge that works well for a masculine card. It doesn't have any pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, lace, flowers or pink on it. The stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog. It is called Another Great Year. The moment I saw it I knew I wanted it to create bold masculine birthday cards. This is the first one I have created with the set.
Tip:
To add contrast to the lettering on the banner I grabbed the White Stampin' Chalk Marker. It helps pop the words and the color adds continuity with the white on the background paper.

Awesome, Trude! I love how the white letters really stand out. How clever to use the chalk marker! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. Thought I would try that marker and it worked. I will have to incorporate it in more of my creations.
DeleteI just love that bold sentiment, Trude! It really pops off the gently distressed background. Thanks so much for playing along with my colors this week at the Paper Players! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne Marie. The challenge with such bold stamps is, how many ways can you find to use them effectively? They take up so much space. I am going to play with this one and figure it out because I like the boldness of the saying.
