It's Monday, and that means that there is another Mojo Monday sketch to try. This week I am combining it with the Paper Players theme challenge, thank you cards.
I thought I would use some nautical Stampin' Up! stamps with this sketch. How often do you see a masculine thank you card? Well, I thought I would give it a try. What do you think?
I'm really lovin' the new Stampin' Up! Hardwood stamp. I'll try not to use it too much, but the size of the grain is just perfect for card-making. It doesn't overwhelm the other elements on the card.
I used the ship and the compass rose from the Open Sea stamp set. The banner, sentiment and circle outline around the compass rose are all from the Settin' Sail photopolymer stamp set.
It was fun to see Bulgaria, Italy and Netherlands stopped by to check out my blog. And thanks for leaving comments. I enjoy reading what you have to say.
Stamp Happy Today!

Great Masculine card! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginger. Yes, I thought that the colors were perfect for this card too! Midnight Muse and Baked Brown Sugar.
DeleteLove your card! I love all nautical cards!! I really like how the embossed wood grain looks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimberly. I was going to do the resist embossing technique on the card, but after I embossed it I liked that look so much that I called it good.
DeleteGreat job combining the Hardwood stamp with the Open Sea--they're perfect mates! Love your take on the sketch and the little bit of ribbon is perfect for a guy card! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteYes, the ribbon worked for this card. I usually am hesitant to put ribbon on masculine cards but this just finished it off.
DeleteGreat job creating a masculine thank you! I love all the rugged texture. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players, Trude!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy. I don't think I've ever thought about creating a masculine thank you card before. It seems like it worked :)
DeleteYour colors are outstanding!! You are making me want the Hardwood stamp!! : ) Great card.
ReplyDeleteI think you are going to want it :) I wasn't going to get it, but now I can't stop using it! Thanks Patti.
