It's the last Friday of the year! I appreciate all of you who are followers of my blog. It has been a challenging year for me. I am hoping that the new year will have fewer bumps in the road!
Today I am sharing a card from my friend, Cherylin. I thought it was perfect for this last Friday before New Year's Day.
She created the card with a shaker window full of confetti. The sentiment is from the Endless Birthday Wishes set, and I'm not sure what the circle stamp is from. If anyone knows and can help me out, please leave the info in a comment.
Very fun card, thank you Cherilyn.
It looks like fireworks, perfect for New Year's Eve. Have a great one!
Happy New Year,
Trude

Tuesday Tutorial 75
This is the last Tuesday of the month! Hard to believe. I hope you are enjoying my weekly tutorials. If you are, I would really like to hear your comments and appreciate your shares and 'likes'.
I used the Wild about Flowers stamp set for this card. This card is a simple, single layer card. There aren't any fancy techniques. The Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp pulls it all together to create a unified piece. That's my tip for the day...use a stamp, such as the stamps that are in the Gorgeous Grunge set, that can be stamped over 'white' area in a piece to add interest and pull the entire piece together.
The Wild about Flowers stamp set has a couple of sentiments that are specifically for retirement cards. I have had several teacher friends retire recently and have a couple more coming up, so I thought that the Writing Note stamp, stamped as the background, would be perfect for the occasion. The Writing Note stamp can be omitted and just the splatter stamp used and it will still be a nice retirement card.
You can get the tutorial now by using this link.
Have a Happy New Year!

Friday Friend Share
Here's a floral card from my friend Betty. She used the Stampin Up Flower shop stamp set. The leaves are from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.
It may be winter, but the days are getting longer and it won't be long before we will see flowers blooming again. Until then, we can start stamping some floral cards.
Thanks for sharing, Betty. If you would like to share your artwork with others, you can mail me a card, or even attach a photo of your card to an email.
Have a blessed day,

Yea, another Friday!
This card is from my friend Kim. I like the way she two-step stamped the flowers really close to fill in the background. I think this might be a retired Stampin' Up! set. Thanks for sharing, Kim.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Merry Christmas Cookie Cutter Banner
It's been a long time since I created a banner so when I got the cookie cutter stamp set and punch I decided to create one.
This is a simple one because all of the banners use the same pieces.
I used the Banner Triple punch to punch the bottom of each 2" x 6 1/2" piece of either Real Red or Cucumber Crush cardstock.
Then I stamped a bunch of gingerbread cookies on Whisper white cardstock, punched them out, added little punched hearts and attached them to the bottom of each banner.
I die cut large glittery letters and attached them to the top of the banners.
The paper at the top is from the This Christmas Specialty Designer Series paper pack. I cut strips so that they would match all the way across.

Tuesday Tutorial # 73
It's time for another Tuesday Tutorial.
My sister lives in Nome, Alaska and I went to visit her a year ago. Such an interesting place. I got to walk on tundra and pick wild blueberries and see musk ox herds, reindeer and a grizzly bear.
When I saw this cookie cutter set I knew I had to have it because of the Alaskan cutie!

Another Friday, another card from a friend to share.
This festive little hedgehog card was created by my friend Cathy. Isn't he cute?
I'm not sure if this was a Stampin' Up! stamp or not. I know that Stampin' Up! had hedgehogs in the past, but I think other companies carried them too.
Maybe we should ask Stampin' Up! to bring the hedgies back, they are just too cute!

One thing that I like about rubber stamping is that it is easy to be creative, even if you can't draw.
Here's a card from my friend, Kim. She may be able to draw, I don't know, but this is a fun card that she put together on the theme of creativity. I think it illustrates that concept quite well!

I am a fan of this stamp set because of the strawberry! If you attend a class at my home you will know why. ☺

Tuesday Tutorial # 68
Here's another Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas card with a touch of elegance. I love to create quick cards when it gets this close to the holidays. And I like elegance with a little shimmer and sparkle. This card is both. The glitter in the embossing powder and the glimmer paper don't show up well in this photo, but the sparkle is there!

Friday Friend Share
My Friday Friend Share this week is from my friend, Jeannie.
She used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder, that is now retired, for the frame. Then used 5 different embossed squares and one square tied with ribbon to create a card that resembles a quilt. Although, the ribbon tied square makes me think of a gift. It would make a nice birthday card, or with switched out colors, a Christmas card.
Have a blessed day,

Thanksgiving Card in a Box
Have you tried making one of these? The first one I created was at a demonstrator meeting and it took at least an hour to make. I decided they were too labor intensive and that I wouldn't make another one.
But here I am, trying again. I can't say that the process was any less time consuming. Maybe it just takes practice. The actual card in a box base is not very hard to create. But, trying to decide how to decorate it and place the elements is what makes it time consuming for me. I'm not sure if I will keep trying or just give it up. I have seen some really wonderful examples on Pinterest.
Products I used:
Lovely as a Tree stamp set
Papillion Potpourri stamp set
Acorny Thank You stamp set
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
Elegant Butterfly punch
Bitsy Butterfly punch
Leaflets Framelits
Chocolate Chip cardstock
Crumb Cake cardstock
Tangerine Tango cardstock
Delightful Dijon cardstock
Daffodil Delight cardstock
Peekaboo Peach cardstock
So Saffron cardstock
Cajun Craze cardstock
Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' ink
I would love to hear about your adventures if you have tried making this type of card! I love reading your comments.
