Birthday Card

This card says,"Rise and Shine" on the outside. Inside, it says,"It's Your Day, Celebrate!" I don't remember what company made the chicken wire background (It is a large unmounted rubber die), but the chicken stamp is a retired Stampin' Up! stamp.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Rain or Shine Card

A spring themed card. It rains a lots here, so this is an appropriate card. The greeting inside, "Rain or Shine, You're a Friend of Mine." I believe it is a retired D.O.T.S. set.

Emboss Resist Technique

I like this technique. I embossed a white card with a swirl background stamp using Versamark Ink and clear embossing powder. Then I took a tri-color ink pad and rubbed it over the embossed card. It looks like summer in the citrus colors.

Beautiful and fun.

Friend Card

"In the cookie of life, friends are the chocolate chips" (sentiment inside the card)
Sponged ink over a doily, stamped and cut out 3 chocolate chip cookies and adhered them over the doily. Stamped the sentiment inside the card.

Quick and easy card!

Have a fun day,

Simple Greeting

This is stamped with an Inkadinkado collage stamp. A rhinestone is added. Accent striped paper at the top fold and a strip of paper tied with a ribbon, at the bottom of the stripes. The tag is a round stamp that has been stamped with lavender  ink and punched out with a circle punch then matted on 2 more punched circles and attached to the card base with a brad.

Quick and easy!

Wedding Gift Card

I used a tag for the base of this gift card. I also made a sleeve from specialty paper. The sleeve can be attached to a gift or can be inserted in an envelope before being attached to the gift. I used a Sizzix die to cut the heart and then embossed it with a swirl embossing folder. This is an easy 10 minute project.

Bird and Feathers Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com greeting card by Trude Thoman

This card is another 5" x 5" card. I made it with a 5x5 piece of light blue white-core paper and a 5x6 1/2 piece of dark brown paper. I used the Fiskars feather texture plate to emboss the light blue paper and lightly sanded it. Then I folded 1 1/2 inches on the long side of the brown paper. I attached the blue under the flap of the brown. Next I stamped the bird with dark brown ink on light blue paper. I knotted a ribbon attached it to the brown flap and adhered the cut out bird. This is a quick card. Should take about 10 minutes to put together.

Happy Stamping!

Beautiful Bloom Card

This card is easy and beautiful. It is 5" x 5". I used a navy blue card stock for the base. I layered an aqua paper then a printed paper. Next I layered a band of blue and a piece of lace trim. Next the purple bloom with a rhinestone. Then I stamped the art piece/sentiment in purple on cream card stock and layered it on a piece of aqua, placed it partly  over the bloom and added the rhinestone swirl.

Thanks for looking, see you next time!

Thankful for You Card

I covered a folded cream card with a grid printed paper, added a doily and a strip of orange paper. Then I wrapped a piece of ribbon around a leaf printed strip and adhered it to the orange strip. I cut a circle with the Cricut, stamped it with the sentiment adhered it to the center and added the triple punched leaf. The Cricut cut is the one element that takes the time to do. Otherwise it is a simple card that would take less than 10 minutes.

Have a blessed day,

Cherry and Mint Thank You Card

I don't think that the photos do the cards justice. The last couple of cards that I have posted are some of my favorite cards and they don't look half as good when I post them as they do when you actually see them.

The base for this card is tan. Then I used a piece of cream card stock and  stamped cherries around the perimeter. The next layer is a pastel green. For the next layer I stamped a cream piece of card stock with a plaid stamp (I think it is a retired Close-to-My- Heart stamp). The top layer was cut from cream card stock using a Spellbinder die. Then I stamped a butterfly (retired Stampin' Up!), cut it out and attached it to the die cut card with a brad. I glued red lace trim across the bottom, adhered pastel green ribbon tied in a knot on one end and then adhered a button with a pearl on top.

Happy Stamping!

Cricut Hello Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com greeting card by Trude Thoman

I cut 2 base cards on the Cricut, inked the edges and adhered the light blue over the cream. I adhered a note card over that and then the scallop border that I cut out with the Cricut. I used a couple of rub-on accents and a swirl of rhinestones then attached the flowers, button, Cricut cut leaves and Hello greeting. Since I used the Cricut, I wouldn't say this is a 10 minute card. It takes awhile to figure out what sizes you want to cut things and get everything set up. It is probably more like a 30 minute card. Well, that's it for today.

Happy Stamping!

Cricut Card

I enjoy using my Cricut, but don't use it often enough. I cut the card base, accent backgrounds, and bird layers using the Cricut. I think the oval was cut with Spellbinder dies. Love those too. That's the card for the day!

Have a blessed day,

Trude

Butterfly Swirl card

This could be a birthday card, hello card, thinking of you card, kind of an all occasion card. I cut the blue paper on the Cricut.

One more Stampscape

This is the last Stampscape card I have to post. It is a fun one with the cosmos swirling above a rocky wilderness. There are about 5 different stamps used in this scene, along with the tonal applicator. If you haven't seen Stampscape stamps, check out their website. They even have instructions on how to do it.

Patriotic card

This card is quick, a 10 minute card. It  is perfect for any patriotic holiday. There are many coming up, Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Forth of July. The stamp is from Rubberstamp Ave. It is a stamp of the song America the Beautiful. I stamped it on a folded white card, then I stamped it on a piece of red card stock. I cut the red piece around the outside of the stamped area, then I cut it into strips and adhered the strips over the same place on the white card. Finally I placed a blue paper square in the upper left corner and added a punched star. See, told you it was quick!

Stormy Sea Stampscape

Having fun with scenic stamps.
Stamps that have anything to do with the ocean are my favorites. These are more Stampscape stamps.

Another Stampscape card

This card has a cloud stamp, a rocks-pond-trees stamp, foreground rocks stamp, extra trees stamp and foreground foliage stamp. The way the stamps are designed, they seamlessly blend together.

Scenic Stamping

This is a Stampscape scene. Stampscape stamps are fun to stamp with. You choose different elements and stamp them all together to make scenes. The tree branch (upper left), galaxy, flock of geese and mill are all different stamps. In the next few days I will be posting several scenic cards that I have made.

Peek-a-boo Hello Card

It is a peek-a-boo card because it has a square punched out and the flower is stamped on the inside of the card, along with the greeting. It is a quick and easy card. 2 punches, 2 stamps, the card stock and a piece of ribbon knotted in the center. Flower stamp is Hero Arts and the border punch is Martha Stewart.
Easily adaptable to other stamps and punches.

Elegant Get Well

This card was a Stamp Club card. The butterflies are made with a blossom punch. I used Pool Party, Concord Crush (which is retiring at the end of May), and Basic White card stocks. Also Used the 2011-2013 in-color designer series paper for the butterflies. The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned set.

I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't currently have one!

Have a blessed day!

Blossom Birthday Easel Card

This is an easel  card that we made at Stamp Club. A group meets once a month and makes 4 cards (usually). This is one we made in April. It uses the Blossom punch for the flower and the Label framelits for the layered frame. I used Pool Party card stock, Poppy Parade card stock, Basic white card stock and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Papers ( a Sale-a-bration bonus  that is not available at this time).

Congratulations Card

We made this card at the last Stampin Club. The only thing on this card that is retiring is the 5/8" Old Olive satin ribbon. Stampin Up has retired ALL the 5/8" satin ribbon. I am sad to see it go because I like ribbon on cards and I used a lot of the 5/8" satins.
I like the Stampin Up sentiment in this card. It says, "If at first you do succeed, try not to look so surprised."
I used soft suede, Delightful Daffodil, and Whisper White cardstocks for this card.

In Wilderness Greeting Card

This is one of the stamps sets that will no longer be available after May 31st (2012). The dotted paper I used to mat the buffalo is retiring also. The paper is from the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper set. This stamp set has the saying and 3 realistic animal stamps. The Wolf and Eagle stamps are wonderful for anyone that loves nature. All three animal stamps are so symbolic of the United States of America.

Flower Fest Card

This card is made with the Flower Fest Stamp Set by Stampin Up. The set will only be available through the end of May (2012). It is retiring. I am surprised, because it is such a versatile set.
  • For this card I embossed the Lucky Limeade background with Petals-a-plenty embossing folder.
  •  Then I used the Adorning Accent Edgelit die to cut one side of a piece of Wisteria wonder card stock.
  •  I stamped the leaves from the set 3 times with Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' ink and then Stamped the flower onto Whisper White cardstock with Concord Crush Classic Stampin ink 3 times.
  • I cut the flower out in graduated sizes and used Stampin' sponges to sponge some Concord Crush ink around the edges.
  • I put rhinestones in the center of each flower and adhered the flowers to the stamped Very Vanilla rectangle.
  • I used Dimensionals on the top and bottom flowers.
  • Then I adhered the Very Vanilla to a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and mounted it onto the wisteria wonder and then onto the embossed lucky limeade.

I would say this card is slightly more than a 10 minute card. But it isn't too complicated.

Update: Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral are now the only items that are still available. You can find them here.

First Beach trip

Yup, this stuff is fun! My grandson enjoyed playing in the sand. This was two days before his first birthday.

Bold Birthday Card

I like the bold colors in this card. I used pink shimmer paper for the base. I put black paper strips at top and bottom, then adhered black and white striped paper over them. I used ribbon for the stem and leaves. The flower is a sticker. I stamped 'best wishes' on the outside and 'Happy Birthday' on the inside. Done and easy, pretty much a 10 minute card.

Have a blessed day,

Trude

Heron Birthday Card

This is the card that I sent to my dad for his birthday. He likes all kinds of birds. This card would qualify as a 10 minute card. I stamped the heron with Early Espresso Stampin Up classic ink pad on the top half of Whisper White card stock. Then I put Soft Suede paper on the bottom and accented with a strip of blue paper cut with a Wave paper shaper. Then I stamped a swirl in the bottom right corner and wrapped a piece of twine near the fold of the card. Inside is a birthday sentiment. You can find the ink, and paper HERE

Cricut floral birthday card

I used a Cricut to make this birthday card. I cut out 4 circles in different colors then distressed the edges and used a glue dot to attach the button. I cut out a leaf and a swirl with the Cricut. I used a paper edger to shape the 4 corners of a 4" x 12" strip of double sided card stock and then folded it into a gate-fold card. I applied a strip of paper across the middle, stamped it with a greeting, stamped another greeting inside and attached the flower on the outside. This card took longer than 10 minutes to make.

Thanks for checking it out!

Floral Birthday Card

I sent this card to my mother for her birthday. She loves flowers and has a huge rose garden. She thought this card was store-bought.

Party Favor

Here's an idea for a party favor or to give a favorite person a treat. I used a precut favor box. Cut a strip of Stampin Up Designer Series Paper to wrap around it. Punched a heart out of red paper. Stamped 2 hearts from 'I (heart) hearts' stamp set by Stampin Up onto white paper. Cut the double stamped hearts out and stuck it to the punched heart. Stuck it to the favor box back with glue dots. Put a tiny rhinestone above the 'i' in friend. And finally tied a red satin ribbon bow and filled it with chocolates. Done!
