Hexagon Quilt Card

Here's a card that I created because I haven't played with these items much. I have had the hexagon embossing folder, punch and stamp sets that go with them, but just haven't pulled them out to play with.
My mom makes a lot of quilts and it is her birthday next week, so I thought this would be a good theme for a card. Plus she has too many flowers to count, so it is a perfect fit; flowers and quilts.

Teeny Tiny Wishes, Stampin' Up!, stampwithtrude.blogspot.com, Trude Thoman, butterfly thinlits, butterfly basics, hexagon punch, quilt birthday card, #stampinup

I thought it would look pretty with a butterfly, so I added the Butterfly Basics stamp set butterfly and layered it on the die cut butterfly from the new Butterfly framelit set.

I used a brayer to apply Crushed Curry ink to the embossing folder before I ran it through the Big Shot. That's why you can see the embossed lines on the background paper.

I used Designer Series paper and the hexagon punch for the flowers and leaves. But if you want to you can use the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and stamp and punch the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I punched it out with the Word Window punch and matted it with the modern label punch.

  2. Thanks Amy. I have done a little playing with the brayered embossing folders, but not much. I'm still in the experimental stage with it.
