You've Got This Greeting Card

This is a stamp set that is in the new catalog. The set is called "You've Got This". If you look at Pinterest I'm sure you've already seen many versions of it. I tried to do it a little different from the rest. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.

Mojo Monday sketch, Stampin' Up!, http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com, You've Got This, encouragement card,
I also used the Color Coach for the color combination. The Color Coach by Stampin' Up! is retiring and only available until June 2, 2015. It shows different ways to combine Stampin' Up! colors. I'm sure I never would have come up with this combination on my own! (pink and green are not go-to colors for me)

I don't think I've used the spotlight technique much. This is maybe the second or third card I've used it with. I like the way it works with this Mojo Monday sketch.

I double stamped the background stamp to cover the Whisper White piece. It looks more like I used Designer Series Paper, but this background stamp is included with the "You've Got This" stamp set.

I was going to use a banner for the sentiment, but it just looked too big, so I cut it down close and I like the way it looks. It doesn't overpower the flower spotlight.

Baby Card Mojo

Do you need a baby card? For this card I used two stamp sets; Something for Baby and B.Y.O.P (Buy Your Own Present).

I used a Mojo Monday Sketch for the layout.

The paper is from the Lullaby Designer Series Paper pack. I stamped diaper pins on the circle background and then added button holes to the circles with my white chalk marker.

The onesie is heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Friendly Wishes Card

This weekend is Memorial Day so it is a good time for an encouragement card that includes some red, white, and blue.

stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Trude Thoman, masculine, patriotic, encouragement, nautical, Stampin' Up!, Mojo Monday sketch, Friendly Wishes

This card is created with the Maritime Designer Series Paper pack, one of my favorites, and a stamp set that is in the new Stampin' Up! catalog, Friendly Wishes.

I will miss this paper pack, but there is still time to purchase it until June 2nd. I already have an extra pack put away for scrapbook pages.

This card will work for a Father's Day card as well as an encouragement card. You could even put a birthday greeting inside. It is versatile.

I used the circle collection framelits and for the mats I drew around the outside edge of the framelit and cut them out by hand. I used the star framelit set to cut the stars from glimmer papers. The ink is Night of Navy.

I used a Mojo Monday sketch from November 2010. You can check out all their sketches at mojomonday.blogspot.com. They have an archive with 100s of sketches.

Have a blessed day!

Guy Greeting Cards- 3 of 3

This is the third greeting card that I made with the Guy Greeting card stamp set. This set has many stamps and I'm sure that it won't be the last card that I make with it.

Mojo Monday sketch, Guy Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Trude Thoman, http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com, masculine, #stampinup #guygreetings

I haven't created cards that feature the wrenches or the hats. There are so many good sentiments with this set. I'm glad that is will still be available when the new catalog comes out. Sometimes there aren't enough masculine greetings.

I used the Maritime Designer Series paper pack for the papers on this card. I like these papers and I will miss them. There isn't anything like them in the new catalog, but you can still get these papers until they're sold out.

This is another Mojo Monday sketch. Have you tried Mojo Monday sketches yet?

Guy Greeting Cards- 2 of 3

Here's my second card that I created with the Guy Greetings stamp set.

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com ,Stampin' Up!, Trude Thoman, Guy Greetings, Adventure Bound paper stack, Father's Day card, Masculine, #stampinup #guygreetings

I again used paper from the Adventure Bound paper stack that is in the Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions catalog. There's still time to get it...catalog goes through the 2nd of June.

I used brushed silver paper for the star. Naturals Ivory paper to stamp the greeting and man on (Naturals are being retired so stock up now! I love that paper). I used Smoky Slate to stamp the background images and Basic Gray ink for the greeting and man.

The layout is a Mojo Monday sketch. I love having the layout already created and just plugging in the stamps and paper. They have a great archive that goes back to 2010, so lots of sketches to choose from.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Guy Greeting cards- 1 of 3

I think this is the most recent acquisition of mine. It is the Guy Greetings stamp set that is in the Stampin' Up! spring Occasions catalog and is also going to be in the new 2015/2016 annual catalog when it comes out.

I sat down and created 3 cards from the stamp set. I used Mojo Monday sketches for layout ideas.

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , Stampin' Up!, Trude Thoman, Guy Greetings, #stampinup, #guygreetings, birthday card
The inside says, "Happy Birthday to a classic"

The papers are from the Spring Occasions catalog, it is the Adventure Bound paper stack.

I will share another one with you next time. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks A Bunch Card

This card is made with items that are on the retiring products lists. It is a cheery springtime Thank You card.

Trude Thoman, stampwithtrude.blogspot.com , #stampinup, Stampin' Up!, Thank You card, Occasions 4 You

I used the Occasions 4 You stamp set, which I have totally under-utilized this year. It is a nice bold set, which can overwhelm some card layouts. This card layout is a Mojo Monday sketch from 2010. I like to use Mojo Monday sketches, but they aren't always the current sketch. Mojo Monday keeps an archive of their sketches and it's easy to browse them, or even print them off. I stamped the sentiment with Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' ink.

Your may wonder what designer paper I used on the card base. Did you notice that the Spring Occasions catalog had an extra cover this year? It was advertising the Sale-A-Bration. I took the cover off and used the inside as Designer Series Paper for this card base (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!).

I used the 2013-2015 Designer Series Paper stack for the next layer. The scalloped paper is Calypso Coral card stock. The next layer is Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper. On top of that is Crisp Cantaloupe card stock then the top layer is Whisper White.

I used the large scallop edgelit for the bottom of the Calypso Coral layer. I used the Scallop border punch on the left edge of the Crisp Cantaloupe and then used the 1/8" circle punch to punch the little holes along the scallops. I used Boho Blossom for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding Thick twine for the ribbon and bow. Finish it off with a little glitz of rhinestones.

Have a blessed day,
Trude

Adventure Awaits Encouragement Card

This is a stamp from the Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions catalog. It comes with several others in the Adventure Awaits stamp set. They are all fairly large stamps, which makes for quick and easy cards. This one could be for anyone, but is one of the few encouragement sentiments that would be especially good for men and boys.
stampwithtrude.blogspot.com, Stampin' Up!, Adventure Awaits, masculine, encouragement card, nautical, Trude Thoman, photopolymer stamp, Mojo Monday sketch
I used the Maritime Designer Series Paper for the background. The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy ink. I also used Night of Navy card stock, Real Red card stock, Coastal Cabana card stock and Whisper White card stock.

Flamingo LIngo Card

http://stampwithtrude.blogspot.com Stampin' Up! Greeting card created by Trude Thoman with Flamingo Lingo stamp set (Ronald McDonald House Fundraising stamp set)
Are you ready for some pink? Susie and I were stamping together yesterday (if you are in the neighborhood on Tuesdays you can stamp with us too!) and Susie pulled out the Flamingo Lingo stamp set to make a couple of cards. I was looking at a Mojo Monday sketch from several years back and all of a sudden could just see how the Flamingo would look in that sketch. This is the result.

I used Melon Mambo card stock to which I adhered a piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper. The Flamingo is stamped on Whisper White card stock and matted on a piece of Pink Pirouette Card stock. I wrapped a piece of Black Bakers Twine around it and adhered it to the card with Dimensionals.

The banner is also in the Flamingo Lingo stamp set. I stamped it with Jet Black Stazon and die cut it with the matching Bitty Banner framelit. Adhered it to the card with Dimensionals and added 3 Black Candy Dots.

September is almost gone! We have had a day of very much needed rain. I hope it will help quench the fires. Tonight's sunset was VERY red, so I know there is still quite a bit of smoke in the air.

Thanks for checking my blog today.
Have a Blessed Day!

Happy Stamper's New Catalog Blog Hop

Hello!
Welcome to our blog hop, thanks for stopping by.

I have one sweet baby card to share with you and a Masculine card that would make a nice card for a birthday or Father's Day.

For the baby card I used the new baby stamp set, Something for Baby. This set is very sweet and the new word set, Something to Say, coordinates with it perfectly. I love it! I also used the new decorative heart mask. It comes in a set along with a star mask. I lightly sponged the entire front with hearts and on the inside I chose to sponge the hearts just along the bottom edge. The mask brings a design element from the front of the card to the inside of the card and is the perfect finishing touch! I used a 2010 Mojo Monday Sketch (#147) to create the layout for this card.

baby girl card

For the second card I made a Masculine card using the stamp set, Travelers. I also used the new Maritime Designer Series Paper. To bring the design from the front to the inside, for that perfect finishing touch, I added a strip of the Maritime Designer Series Paper along the bottom edge. I also used a 2010 Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. Can you tell I like to try Mojo Monday Sketches? I like to enter their weekly challenges, but I also like to go to their archives, choose a layout and design a card around it. There are years of layouts to choose from.

Summer Silhoutte Sympathy Card

I was working in my garden yesterday and noticed that some of the parsley is blooming and looks like the flower in the Summer Silhouettes stamp set. So I decided to stamp a Parsley card.

I used the new kraft paper too. Did you know that Stampin' Up! now sells kraft card stock? It isn't just the Baked Brown Sugar card stock, this is the real deal! Love it!

I used VersaMark ink to stamp the leaves on the Pear Pizazz card stock. It leaves a watermark effect, the leaves, or whatever you stamp with the watermark ink, stay the same color as your cardstock just darker so it is a great two-tone effect.

This is a Mojo Monday Sketch challenge from 2010.

Paper:
Kraft card stock, Pear Pizazz card stock, Pistachio Pudding card stock, Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack,

Ink:
VersaMark watermark ink, Whisper White craft ink

Stamp Set:
Summer Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Other:
Modern Label punch, White embossing powder, Heat embossing tool, clear embossing powder, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Trimmer

Have you tried the watermark technique? What do you think? I would love to hear your comments.

Regarding Dahlias Inchies Card

I am going through my Stampin' Up! stamp sets to see what I can do with ones that I haven't used. I'm also trying to come up with new ways to use ones with which I have already created projects.

Here's one that I haven't used yet. The set is called Regarding Dahlias.

I was looking at a Mojo Monday Sketch from 2010 and decided to try this stamp set with the inchies Mojo Sketch.

Paper:
Basic Black card stock, Cherry Cobbler card stock, Smoky Slate card stock, Whisper White card stock

Ink:
Jet Black Stazon, VersaMark watermark stamp

Stamp Set:
Regarding Dahlias

Other:
Cherry Cobbler embossing powder
embossing heat tool
Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding
Pearls Basic Jewels

Thanks for checking it out today. I would love to hear your comments.

Red, White and Blue Patriotic Star Card

Here's the card that I was going to share for the 4th of July.

I used the Stampin' Up! stamp set, "Be the Star", to create this card. I used the layered stamp to stamp on the back of the glimmer paper and cut out the different layers, then piled up the glimmer layers.

The background stars were created with the new Decorative star mask (#133777).

The layout is a Mojo Monday sketch from several years ago. I like to challenge myself to come up with cards using past sketches. There are so many sketches that I haven't tried yet that I am sure I won't run out any time soon!

Paper:
Whisper White card stock, Night of Navy card stock, Regals Designer Series paper, Maritime Designer series paper, silver glimmer paper, red glimmer paper

Ink:
Whisper White craft ink, Smoky Slate classic Stampin' ink, Jet Stazon to stamp the stars on the back of the glimmer paper as a pattern for cutting them out.

Stamp set: Be the Star

Other: White embossing powder with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' glitter mixed into it.
Basic Rhinestone jewels colored with cherry cobbler blendabilities marker (darkest value).
Decorative star mask, Dimensionals, corner rounder punch
